I too am gobsmacked no one has mentioned Blacklines. Its my favorite subject as the MF will verify.
Paul I am still trying to get hold of Chris33 for a discount but looks like I am going to have to follow the dealer route after all

Options
I went through a similar excercise recently deciding which options were important and where to stop! - I decided £34k was enough for my 335i Msport
Rather than Sat Nav and Bluetooth I upgraded my phone (for free) and this runs Tom Tom 6 beautifully (N73) (also gives you updated speed camera alerts, custom POI's and you can take it out of car when park up to find the office etc you need on foot)If you have a Tom Tom already (and actually need to use Sat Nav) then Idefo wouldn't get the BMW option - BMW Sat Nav looks really flash but is not as usable as Tom Tom I am Having Nokia Bluetooth installed for £230 (with all the steering wheel, stereo interfaces etc) - I also know that this option will mean any Nokia phone will work with this kit and the N73 supports enhanced voice dialling if thats your thing. As for other options - get xenons - worth every penny for difference over halogens (every car shoulf have em as standard in my opinion) I went for leather and Manual simply because I love the leather sports seats and enjoy the feel of driving a manual. The 18" wheels on Sport sus with runflats will be loads firmer than your Merc - its a completely different drive and I mean completely! I personally find the Sport Sus on the e90 excellent - its loads more compliant than on the e46 sport (with 18" wheels) My personal feeling is that the e90 needs bigger wheels to look good, and Blacklines rear lights for £150 (dealer fitted) really suit the Sport. I also went for: Heated Seats - fabulous on those cold mornings - start the car and switch em on whils you are de-frosting the exterior Lumbar support - comfort on those long drives Grad Tinted windscreen and Sun Protection Glass - for looks and comfort Through Load (split rear seats) - just for practicality DAB Radio - great if your on the road alot CD Changer - plays MP3 cds so talking 60 albums worth in the boot HiFi Sys Prof - Love my sounds on the road Deleted Smoker package - gives you a handy lidded tray in place of the ashtray in which a pair of sunglasses fits beautifully Just my two penneth as someone who uses his car for work and for fun. Cheers

I also have a very similar car to Touringmans...
My options stopped at a whisker over 40k list for that i got... E90 335i M Sport Titanium Silver (best colour to show off the lines) Grey Dakota Leather (wipe lean from baby abuse, looks, resale) Manual (because i like to DRIVE) Sat Nav Pro (cant live without sat nav) Heated seats (for the other half!) cd changer grad tinted windscreen xenon lights adaptive headlights (not something i would have spec'd but very good) highbeam assistant blackline rear lights (best money spent) pdc (not needed) dab radio (ditto, i think) lumber support... cant remember what else... mine was a pre-specc'd car, but even with the spec i was going to choose, its very easy to get carried away..... |

Touringman "I am Having Nokia Bluetooth installed for £230 (with all the steering wheel, stereo interfaces etc) - I also know that this option will mean any Nokia phone will work with this kit and the N73 supports enhanced voice dialling if thats your thing."
Can you let me know a little bit more about this, is this via BMW? I have the N73 and was considering the bluetooth with voice if not satnav. I notice you have the fin so I presume have it all prepared. "Blacklines rear lights for £150 (dealer fitted) really suit the Sport." what are these exactly - presume again not standard (not on my list of options) Rochester BMW - can you tell me a little bit more about the adaptive lights and how they work Thanks for all the responses helping me to understand the way to go with the options. Please keep them coming Bob |

Nice choice of car. I'd say this .. The alcantara is great and leather is not necessary at all. The Tom Tom nav is actually better than the pro-nav. The only advantages of paying the money are to get idrive - which is nice for the phone and radio etc and to get rid of dangly cables and brackets. I sold my last car because the auto bored the pants of me. So I'd stick with manual for definite. It's a personal view, but I see it as paying more for a less involving drive. I'd definitely go for the particulate filter and the 18 inch wheels. I regret not having the privacy glass on my car. The rear PDC is fine. I have both on my e60 and I don't miss the front one at all. I also have no problem folding my mirrors myself. Have fun choosing. |

Paul- you MF- I think your car looks as 'bad' as mine, as Marilyn would say!
Do you think we need to make them really 'bad', & stick a new Hartge front lip on them?! I wonder if Chris can do a group buy? Viv |

That shot you took of the 'twins' was excellent- it was a moving shot, but looks as clear as a still. All the best. Viv BTW- sorry for hi-jacking your thread Bob- I'm afraid the 'old fogeys' amongst us have a habit of doing that! |

Bob
I am getting a Nokia CK-7W kit from www.fitbluetooth.co.uk fully integrated (with specialist interface BMW e90) with logic 7 to car.
Phone with Tom Tom 6 Sat Nav is going on one of these consoles - http://www.plummer.co.uk/BMW%203%20Series%20E90.htm for the oem look (I had one in my e46 coupe and was very satisfied) The bluetooth gps receiver is hidden under dash and hard wired to ignition (as is Nokia BT kit) so no dangly wires anywhere in car - can't stand that. Hardwiring a Tom Tom onto a specialist bracket (check out Brodit) is straightforward (for Car electric/audio/comms engineers!) Blackline rear lights are available from your dealer as after market parts/accessories and and IMHO look better than stock. With negotiation your can get em for £150-£170 fitted. Will post some pics when completed (sometime next week) Cheers
