E90 330D - Auxiliary Water Pump Not Working
Hi All,
I got a fault for the Auxiliary Water pump a while back so I took mine off to inspect inside and a screw broke so I purchased another one off fleabay only to find the same issue. I spliced the brown wire and connected it to the ground connection on the side of the car by the expansion tank and then used ISTA to run the pump for 10 second but still nothing. The other wire red and white I think it was goes to a loom and then down by the ECU box and connects to the IHKA so I'm not sure what to do on that side of things. Also, I was going to use a multimeter to test for a voltage but when you pull the black connection off its a female connector with two small holes, so without splicing the wires how are you supposed to test the connector anyway? |

Does what it says on the tin. Major function is after-run circulation, and rest heating. Generally your car will run absolutely fine without it though. |

sounds pretty straight forward. I do have a spare battery but I think it needs charging so I'll see if I have some wire lying around that can reach.

our UK models it's on the right hand side, attached to the wheel arch almost. can help with hot spots in engine as it can circulate the coolant after you turn the car off, but one of the benefits I wanted it for was you can put ignition on, turn blower fan speed to lowest setting, temperature to highest and then hold accelerator for thirty seconds and it will activate the auxiliary pump to automatically bleed the coolant after flushing and renewing the coolant. it also helps to keep the cabin air warm when the engine has been shut off, again because it continues to circulate the coolant
