If any of you guys/girls want to learn about proper car care I would be happy to do a detailing class for any size group. I recently moved from the east coast (VA) to Portland and have been detailing for many years. I had a successful business but I didn't care for the east coast vibe. I love it out here. Many of you may have seen my work on Autopia.org - I am mobile, I come to you.

I have detailed a ton of BMWs, over the years.

Here are some examples for you:

What we started with

After compounding

Finished product

Welcome to Portland - I moved here from upstate NY last year. No plans to return...

Photos are very impressive - I'd be up for some tutorials.

You ever do any of the CF fabric install on interior trim? I'd kind of like to do that with my E90, but having never done that sort of thing, I don't want to screw it up.

Thanks for the welcome!

If a few people are interested we can do one pretty soon. This was the last one I did.

Essentially it is simply wrapping existing trim (wood appearance) with this fabric. Here is a post on the fabric:

Some of the other posts have an FYI guide. I could take a stab at it, but would rather entrust someone with detailing experience.

I looked at the thread - I am not the right guy for the trim work at all.

High speed buffers create holograms.
If they are indeed very light swirls, (from improper wash/wipe) the pc can get rid of them with the right pad/polish combo. What products do you have?

tdekany,

Where are you located, I'm local as well, actually, just met PortlandDoug the other day. He lives right down the street from me, lol.

I'm game for a detailing class, I could probably get a couple more people who might be interested as well.........

TIA

Compounding = deeeeep polishing/ That is the first step when you are correcting paint and it is the step that actually removes imperfections like swirls/scratches.

Of those that would like to come to the class, what days do you have in mind?

Weekends? sat or sun? Can we get some dates? I know that this weekend is Laborday.

Thanks!
