Angel eye not working..help!

2011 335i xdrive with Xeon headlights.
I got a warning light and replaced the bulb on the passenger side angel eye.
The replacement bulb didnít work and I continue to get warning light. I changed the bulb for a 2nd time and it still doesnít work.
Is there a module that controls the angel eyes?

Additional info: driver side angel eye works fine

The angel eye is lit from an output of the FRM (Footwell Relay Module), which controls lighting for the car.

You might start by visually checking the wiring at the bulb and working your way through the headlight. If you have a multi meter, check continuity of the wires/look for breaks.

If this is more than your taste in DIY, I'd have it checked out by someone who is familiar with electronics or BMWs.

Questions .. does the Footwell Relay Module also control or effect the self leveling light from headlight? I’ve noticed the same headlight leveling lower then the other side

Leveling and adaptive position is done by a separate module that would most likely give you an error if it was failing. This is in communication with the FRM though.

Do the headlights self-test when you turn the car on? Usually this is presented by a dip and raise to level of each light? Do they turn both directions (only to the right when stopped)?

There are a few places where you could have an issue with leveling. If it is not physically damaged, and the full range of motion is established, you can adjust the vertical positioning by a screw on the headlamp.

Do you get any errors on the dash about parking lights out? Do you have a BMW-specific code scanner?

I’m answering your question in reverse order
1. I don’t have a bmw scanner.
2. The only warning message I get is “right side parking/driving light out.
3. The lights go through the full range of motion test and by bothside work together. The passenger is a little lower then the drivers side.

When the warning message came on I changed the
Bulb.. which was broken. After changing the bulb I still had the message so I changed the bulb with a better quality bulb.. still have the message and the lights still out.

This same thing happened to me, but on the passenger side.
When you took out the bulb for the angel eye, did you check the wiring?
The wiring insulation was cracked on mine and shorted out.

I just did a Visual inspection of the wires, I don’t have a meter but the wires looked completely intact. Can the internal harness for the angel eyes be replaced?

It should be this (I think your car is LCI E90?):

Or read through the thread, everything should be covered or get you on the right track. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6704

If you car still has the tool kit screwdriver, it "should" (might) fit in the adjustment hole. Mine did on an 07 E90.

Is it shorted in the headlight or in the rest of the car? Good luck with the repair (or hopefully just have it fixed)

For a white look you basically need LED bulbs. I use LUX on my Ď07 and have had good results. You can do a search for LED angel eye bulbs on this forum, there are some options that have been discussed frequently.

Was it covered under warranty? If not, take a look at this
http://www.bmw-rp.com/production/bmw...bmw_portal.nsf
When I input my VIN, i see an option to get reimbursed for a footwell module.

There are threads in the lighting/exterior forum I think that addressed this. Some people have been able to fix it.

Also not sure where you live, but I've had damage to my vehicles caused by potholes before and it was covered by my insurance.
