Thanks Carl,
The 330i was done about 3 months ago and looks the same today after careful washing/detailing and using the 2 bucket method. The 330i will be due a top up of the carnubra wax in about October, at the moment the water still beads off it beautifully! I cannot stress enough how the car looks, my friend has the same car albeit a 330d in the same colour. Shortly after my car was detailed he parked his next to mine, his looked opaque in fact quite milky. Steve |

Hi,
Ths 2 bucket method is one with suds in it and the other with clean water, preferably both buckets with grit guards. Always use a mit, clean one panel at a time and then rinse the mit out in the clean water reducing the risk of picking up grit and hence small scratches. The mit helps reduce the dreaded swirl marks. To keep up the appearance and protection between details I use Zymol field glaze every 3 weeks. This contains 13.5% canubra wax and is very easy to apply. Always use a high quality micrfibre to do this, I find the Meguiars the best. The wheels are treated with Zymol wheel protectant. I have never used a wheel cleaner on them just washed them using soapy water with Zymol shampoo and a mirofibre and a soft brush for the inside of the wheel. I leave the full top ups to my detailer say every 6-8 months as for what he charges it is cheaper to let him do it rather than buy the expensive Zymol HD cleanse and Zymol Royale wax. This works for me. Steve |

Carl,
My 330i looked SHIT when it came from the dealer. I think they cleaned it with a F*****G brillo pad! Total W*****S. I asked not to do the 1 series and so that was not so bad and did not need full paintwork correction, it just had a few marks on the bonnet and one rear door. It did need a full clay bar as it was covered in industrial fallout which looked like rust spots.Obviously this really showed on a white car. I have never dealt with a garage who know how to prepare a car for delivery. They 99% of the time inflict so much damage to the paint it is unbelieveable. In fairness my 330i was a BMW AUC from Bracknell so I did expect to have to have paintwork correction but, it was truly shit when I picked it up, talk about being gutted. I could not wait to get it sorted and the transformation was incredible. It had to go back to the dealer after the paintwork correction and the sales guy I dealt with could not believe the difference. When he asked what had been done I told him about the paintwork being corrected, the detailing and the Zymol treatment, he had never heard of it. Is there any wonder then why dealerships damage our cars? Simple answer is no, they don't know shit from sugar! Steve |

Love the white 1 Series. I think I'll have white as my colour choice next time! I think white went out of favour because it indicated you might have an ex-police BMW. However, most UK forces seem to pick silver or navy blue nowadays.

Nice work fella.
BMW prep is dire - fortunately the guy who did mine didn't damage the clearcoat with swirlys - but then most of the cosmoline was still in place That said, BMW seemed to paint mine with Sparkling Hammerite anyhow. By the way it's Carnauba wax - it's made from a resin that comes from the tropical brazilian Carnauba palm...hence the price of Collinite 915 through to Royale at £7000 compared with Turtlehead products
