I've had the BMS thermostat on my 335i for a little over 3 months now and it will lower your oil temps by around 15 degrees. Personally, its worth getting. Theres a DIY thread where you can get similar results for free, cant remember where I seen it though.

It works great, I ran it all summer. I’ve removed it for the winter months because it works so well that in -10C it takes forever to heat up!

I've used it for the last 6 months but my gauges are hijacked for JB4 so... not sure if it helps or not TBO. I live in Jacksonville Florida and its Africa hot here, but now we have 30-70 degree temps for the winter.
