power steering pump gone?

Title.
- No leaks.
- Just refilled with the brand it said to refill with on my cap. Still no leaks
- no codes
- no noises turning left or right
- No noises at idle.
- engine changes rpms slightly turning left or right, not sure if related
- car has low sounding squeaky noises sometimes at cold start, but belt is fine, but can’t tell if it’s worn or not. Was told it can be the belt, which leads me to believe the belt caused some sort of resistance and broke the pump?

Car: 2011 bmw 335is.
So I’m having fun in my car, swinging it and doing donuts. Next thing I know I drive off, my steering is extremely hard to turn. It gets a little easier when I go faster, but it’s still hard to turn/change lanes. I drove in a canyon going really fast around bendy curves and downhill. The same day. I don’t do this much, but since owning the car, I’ve put 30000 miles on it. The car is over 100k miles and no note on if the pump has ever been replaced.

Could it have finally went out? If it did, how can I properly diagnose this (any coding software, any apps) to tell me that there is no power to it making it refuse to pump in the steering rack? Any fuses related to the rack and pinion and or pump?

Sounds to me like you killed the pump. High rpm and full lock will do that - that's why drifters often convert to electric pas pumps.

Good to know, I’ll keep that in mind!
