I've read that they are very competent, but also rather dull.

The focus certainly gets attention though not always the right kind so she wants something a little more subtle.

They look a bit dull but are fabulous cars, there is a M135i group on facebook, I am sure they would be glad to help with any specific questions that you have...

A Chris Harris review of the car..

Also some good leasing deals around mate

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/bmw-...ptions-2242464

Have you not considered the M235i ?

Personally, if she's looking at buying new, the M235 is lovely. I nearly got one instead of the 435.

It's going to be second hand Russ. She likes the 5 door over the 3 and after coming from a line of hot hatches 5 doors will be a change. Thanks for the posts so far chaps.

Fair enough.

The newest rendition of the M135 does look nice, so it kind of goes without saying I suppose, but try get the newest possible - as the newer they get, the less they feel like the "cheap" little BMW IMO.

There's also the N54 vs N55 engine dilema to consider and potential warranty requirement just incase.

A mate on our forum got the older shape one, with all the M-performance bits on and he loves it (had an e36 M3 track car as well).

The M135i came with the N54 engine. Very capable cars and deceptively quick. Nowhere near as frantic as the RS but quicker in almost every way.

Yea sorry I was on about the F20 M135i, I just assumed that was the one he was wanting. They all had the n55 as they were late 2011.

Be too much money. She has a test drive booked in the new civic type r too just to see what she thinks of it. Going for a test drive in a 135 tonight 2013 with 14000 miles for 22k. What sort of engine will it be. She won't be buying anything older than that so how does that look engine wise.

That sums up pretty much every owners review I've read.

That's wrong (technically)

The E87 was only ever known as the 135i.

They chucked the M in front for the F20.

Being pedantic and what not.

Not happy with the X6?
Small build numbers and sellers like RS Direct have kept values of the mk2 RS very strong.
