While the LeatherZ part (http://leatherz.com/Merchant5/mercha...etyConvenience) has the right size tire (125/80/17), it's narrow wheel (meant for a Z3) won't fit a 335 without a spacer.

I bought the Bavarian Autosport E90 spare kit (http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp), which fits perfectly and comes with an excellent tool kit (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=71&fg=95&hl=3) which has the best scissor jack I've ever used (fits firmly in the chassis block and has a thumbwheel and an actual ratchet mechanism) as well as a precalibrated torque wrench (96 lb/ft, which is OK for the steel spare).

Looking forward to getting decent tires- will be posting my barely used Turanza RFTs for sale soon!
I'm new at this so would appreciate help. I'm buying a 2010 328i base with 16" wheels, and am switching to 16" non run-flats. It seems both the Tisher and the Autosport E90 spare kit are 17" tires. Can I still use one or both of these spares on a 16" wheel? If not, what should I do, what are the options. Thanks.

I am in process of ditching the RFT's. I should have the new wheels this week. I was planning on using the 17" OEM wheel and tire as a spare. I bought the jack kit and cargo net from Tischer and I will be putting a tire tote on the spare to keep things neat in the trunk. Does anybody have a pic of their "spare" set up?

You can't fit a 17 inch tire on a 16 inch wheel.

You're right, of course. What I meant to say was: Can I run the Tischer or Bavarianauto "17" spare wheel and tire on my wheel hub when the rest of the wheels/tires will be "16" in case of a flat?

I suppose I need also to ask if there is any wheel-hubs and lug bolts difference in the 2010 328i from previous years that would also prevent me using the Tischer or Bavarian spare.

Thanks for the help, guys.

As long as the rolling diameter is close, you should be fine. Because it's a RWD car and not AWD, you shouldn't have as much of an issue

I had the same concern, so I emailed them and asked. They replied that the picture on their site is old -- the kit now comes with the OEM jack and tools, the nice ones including the torque wrench.

I ordered mine today in preparation for a long road trip.

Mine came last week, am very pleased with it. You'll be happy to know the tools fit perfectly under the trunk mat, in the well that was apparently designed expressly for these tools, so they don't take any additional trunk space unless you had already stashed something down there. I used the nice bag they came in for my jumper cables.

Don't forget to air the tire up to 60 psi when you get it, they ship it with only enough pressure to seat the beads. Also, if you flip it upside down in the trunk, the dished section of the wheel is plenty of space in which to store your spare oil, etc.

I don't wanna start a new thread, and since my question relates to this thread, does anyone know where i can just get the net that holds the tire in place inside the trunk? I'll gets all other components separately i just need the net that hooks in the trunk and holds the spare in place..thank you

mine isn't "held" by the net per say. The net is just over it the way it normally goes. My tires has never moved once. I think the trunk lining I have keeps it in place quite well.

I didn't bother with the net or a cover, just hooked a couple of bungees from the front cargo hooks into the wheel rim, making an "X" with the cords. It holds the tire in place just fine, and also holds down the bag with my oil and compressor sitting in the wheel well.

My question is kind of related to this tread so ah I already have all the tools (jack.wrench.etc...) so if I just want to get the tire and wheel only, where should I look for? I asked discount tire and they said they dont sell spare wheels and the smallest tire size tirerack has is a 145.. Thanks!

FYI, BMW equips the E60 AWD with tires than range from 26.1" (225/50/17) to 25.7 (245/40/18). the E60 spare is the same 25.5" tire across all the options avail, so i'm pretty sure that the X drive system can tolerate the 25.0 to 25.5 difference under temporary use on the E90.

25.5 is 820 revs per mile.

225/45/17 is 837 revs per mile (2%)
225/40/18 is 833 revs per mile (1.5%)
225/35/19 is 827 revs per mile (0.8%)

the very common aftermarket 19:
235/35/19 is 818 revs per mile (0.2%)

Before I send one of these places my money, just wanted to make sure it actually will work with the rest of my wheel set-up. Running 19" rims with 235/30's front and 265/35's back and the car will be lowered a little lower then BMW sport, the car is just a 325i. Will the 17" rims with 125/80 tires be fine?

Also for securing it in the back, probably just going to use bungee's like someone here suggested. Think I paid $3 a pair at walmart. Not a tire yet, but you should get the idea
