R6's - have you had those before? I'll be in "A" for the first time, likely with the lowest HP/lbs car. Should be fun!
That instructor stories thread is gold. Hopefully you won't have too much of your own material to add... |

It's a great little car. It's a base model, but over the years got all of the clubsport aero/deco bits, LSD, and now has lighter clutch, Bilstein coilovers, roll bar, seats. Still the original M42, which seems to be getting a bit tired at 137k...

^ Nope, certainly not first time on Rs, but I've always been too afraid, "once you go R6..."

Mmmmmmmm. Purple crack. Should I be afraid?
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....R8R6&tab=Sizes My bank account isn't afraid anymore, but it did take a flesh wound.

Camber plates installed, alignment done, coolant changed, vanos solenoids cleaned, and new PCV installed, I should be ready for the track now...all that's left is to change out wheels/tires.

Ilis posted some good pics @ http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=845694
Racey, I am going to need those spacers back sooner than later. I almost had an oh shit moment on Sunday night when most people were gone. My rear street wheels' spokes (style 230) barely clear (and I mean 2mm) the calipers without the spacers. I even rolled the car by ~pushing~ and carefully watched the spokes move past the caliper. It was that close. (I don't think I can clear fronts without spacers.) BTW, check these out: http://store.bimmerworld.com/rogue-e...px?Thread=True

Not to knock Bimmerworld's products (of which I have quite a bit), I've come to love Turner's spacers. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-23...lications.aspx

BTW, thanks again for letting me borrow them, you saved the day for me! Also shout out to SCR Performance for hooking me up with the wheel studs. Next time I will have to be more prepared, I unfortunately hadn't been around for a week before to test everything out. Last edited by raceyBMW; 05-28-2013 at 07:52 PM.. |
