Private plate and number of owners

Quick question.

I've just changed my number plate. V5 has come through but the previous owners it now says 3 although I am the 3rd owner and the previous v5 said 2. I am sure that changing number plate does not add owners?

Is this right?

No it does add new owners.

I have private plates on all three cars and haven't had this problem.

I would call the DVLA to raise the issue and see what they say to remedy the error.

check you haven't mis spelt your name or address on sending the form back etc

happened to me once. I missed a letter on my address and they added a new owner but generaly no it doesn't unless the v5 before wasn't in your name

I had to change the address that the rented licence was registered to but that was it.

Thanks for the info I will take it up with the DVLA

I think what you might have done is,you've filled the new keeper section in,instead of the change of details. Get in touch with DVLA,I'm sure they'll say this x

I done the same mistake with my Private Plate as per what Wobble has stated.

If you phone the customer service team they will get you to send the one you have back and will send you a replacement with a correction on it. Its a bit long winded but can be resolved!
