And as for the gas quality topic, yeah, it really sucks how CA out of all states offers just 91, and as the OP said, crappy 91 at that. Corn-filled crap. Politics suck. GO GO efforts to appease the farmers. /sigh On the east coast a lot of states adopted the 10% crapathol, sorry i mean, ethanol, law/policy, as of Q3 2006 I believe. Meh, still, superior to CA's composition. Btw folks, please note that when a state for example mandates 10% ethanol, it DOES NOT mean that every gallon sold must be at least 10% ethanol. Rather, it just means the annual quota of gas supplied/sold must cumulatively account for 10% of it being ethanol. What this mean in layman's terms: CERTAIN areas of your state may have higher concentrations of ethanol in the fuel sold than others, and of course other areas may have minimal if none at all. I am sure the town politicians have a say in how that all plays out. Heh, in the persian gulf, they got 105+ octane...at regular gas stations Well, not all stations, but quite a few and growing. Regular is 90 octane, and "premium" is 98, with not much of a price hike (but the 104/105 octane stuff is considerably more expensive, albeit a fraction of what 87 octane gas costs over here in the US <=== yeah don't complain guys, you know what a gallon costs in a place like Norway? Try $7). |
