i had a little trouble getting acclimated with the tranny at first but all i can tell you is that you'll get comfortable with it in time. i found it to be engaging lower than most clutches i've tried. some people also blame the difficulty shifting smoothly on the CDV (clutch delay valve). i'd recommend searching for it here and see what people say.

other than that, just drive it and your foot will adjust by itself.

The clutch seems to bog if you try a hard launch with too little RPMs. I have wider tires, so the slipping is less. However, there is a fine line with this clutch between not enough and too much. I agree that it's all feel.

IMO, with the smaller 2 L motors on the EVO, I didn't worry about the launch because the car had AWD, and it didn't have nearly as much torque from the start. It was hard to make the car slip at all from the start. Not true with the 335 i. That's the price of the add'l liter of displacement, and the added torque. Plus, I have PROcede.

One of the challenges that I like about this car is handling the added torque with only 1 or 2 powered weels (pun intended, awaiting LSD).

Stalling won't damage the car.

As regards the hard start you just need to learn to modulate the clutch.
