Dallas/Fort Worth: DFW Recommendations Thread

Hey folks - I notice there's no real recommendations for shops/mechanics/etc in DFW. Since I just moved here from Austin, I need to build a new list of people I can trust.

I need:

Mechanic work - Someone like Sean Osborne in Houston, who is reliable, reputable, and honors his word.
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) - Pull out some minor dings I've gotten
Paint and Body Work - Need someone to paint a hood and trunk lid
Walnut Blaster - Yep, need that.
Detailer - Top of the line, $300+ kind of stuff guy.

At some point, I'll want to go top mount single, and I'll need someone to do that too, though I'll probably head down to Austin and let Roman over at Boost Logic do it, since I'd probably have him do the tune (he did my current tune).

Whats wrong with Autoscope? The Dallas (park cities) location is legit, and ive only had good interactions with them.

As I said the Plano Autoscope. They installed 4 tires and broke a TPMS. They tried using one from an older model which of course didn't work. When I took it back up there they said the TPMS light was caused by my JB4 and that if I paid for it they would try new monitors. I later had the monitors swapped (at my expense) and sure enough 1 TPMS was different from the other 3...I explained that I didn't have this issue before they touched the car but they insisted it was my tune.

Have you tried looking on Bimmershops.com? I just moved to DFW, so I can't recommend a specific place.

Texas Track Works advertises that they do a basic PPI for $100. http://texastrackworks.com/services/maintenance-repair/

I'm going to add to this and pile on AutoScope of Plano as well. I'll never go back there. Had a simple repair job that was covered by insurance. Their 2 week estimate ended up taking 2 months and they returned the car with some work not complete.

All the things they actually did were top notch...but it took them well beyond their estimated timeframe which costed me about $1500 in rental car fees...and they just decided not to fix a few things that were on the original estimate.

I know this is an old post, but what is wrong with Eurosport? I want to take my e93 to get an alignment and they are right down the street. But if they are not to be trusted then ill go else where.

Is that a bad thing? Far as I knew, Discount Tire is about the only place in the DFW area where you can consistently find the Hunter Road Force balancers, which can make a pretty big difference especially for performance vehicles. I'd much prefer that to the more primitive balancing methods most shops use that end up inaccurate at speed.

Any recommendations for window tinting, leatherette repair, and touching up rock chips? Doesn't have to be the same place.

For tint I've always gone to Empire audio. It's a little "hood" (if you will) but they do a good job. Just know your prices on tint job before you go there....

I went to Bimmers Only on Round Table Rd. Recently for a diagnostic ($105) and had a pleasant experience. Was referred to them by BMW of Dallas dealership because the owner used to be a technician there. Dropped my car off and had it back next business day with full report.

If you just need battery replacement, I can help you with that, I'm in McKinney. Just replaced my e93 battery with an H8 AGM 90ah from Walmart and coded it as well.
