quiestions about nipples and hoses's with tial BOV

So my hoses are ORM and i have about 57K. IM putting a tial BOV and saw that people recommend drilling out the nipple on the intake manifold, or at least using an adapter to connect the 1/8" nipple to a 1/4" line

my question is the adapter enough, or is the drilled out nipple upgraded to 1/4" worth it?

Also is all the other line 3.5mm on the car? I'd like to go ahead replace all hose on the car. along with putting the 1/4" one on the tial BOV

Is there any reason why that i should maybe go with 6mm everywhere and not just the BOV?

I was looking at the forge silicon high heat hose.

another quick question for those whom have drill'ed and taped the manifold. DO you remove the manifold to do this, or is it safe to do on the car. Im leaning towards a remove only but it is plastic so it not cause any damages... thoughts?

No, adapting it isn't the same thing, because the bottleneck still exists.

Yes, you should drill it out and add a 1/4" barb. Yes, you should remove the IM off the car. Yes, you will have plastic shards flying into your engine unless you do this and thoroughly clean it before reinstall.

No, you shouldn't change the diameter of the rest of the vacuum lines.

If I was to drill and tap I would do on the turbo compressor housing one for each BOV to get max suction.

This is a very easy mod.
These are the tools/parts I used :
- 11/32 drill bit
- 1/8-27 NPT tap https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- Brass 1/8 NPT x 1/4 barb https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- JB weld on the threads

You can also go 1/4 NPT if you want. Just follow this pipe thread chart

I used a dremel to create a bit more room for the fitting to sit more flush.

looking at the car, i think i basically just need to remove the air ducts, then take off the injen, intake, and charge pipe, after that is there more to it than just unbolting the intake?

also if anyone can help me with what the torque numbers are for the manifold that would be great.

Any link to this would help. The ones ive found do not list the torque numbers, and seem to have all their photos missing now with photobucket doing their crap...

got the intake off, broke the plastic nipple when removing, and looks like i'll be buying me a walnut blasting kit soon. Unfortunitly i did not think of getting that before doing this mod, but after going through the process of removing the intake i just do not see how a dealership can charge 800 dollars for this. it took maby 1 hour to get the intake off and most of that was removing the plastic airduct stuff and wrestling with the cable box on the bottom of the intake.

i had a bit of oil in the stock charge pipe too so maybe a catch can is due.
