Agree.... sport package, manifold, tune, exhaust, wheels and KW's turned mine around. Must do mods, IMO. N54 next.

Drool... I would pay what you did without hesitation for that build. Unicorn indeed! If the E91 MSport at Elevation Motors wasn't Xdrive it would already be mine. (more realistically, it wouldn't have lasted long enough for me to find it in time)

Now a Euro 335iT? Oh god....whole new level of fun! I understand I may be partial, but I seriously can't find a bad line on the E91 LCI.

This may be someone's car on here, but anyway it is listed on CL:

2010 BMW 328xi E91
-M Sport package
-BMW CCA owned

Looks to be maintained and in great shape. Just thought I would share.

HA! Being a former Pre-LCI and currently LCI owner, I couldn't agree more. We found our fault. Which is why my m3 mirrors will be installed soon.

E91's are quite boring stock. I'd argue they're fun to drive with some mods, namely better tires and suspension.

For those in the market, there is nothing special about an E91, they're just an uncommon version of a sedan that was built in massive quantities so prepare for disappointment if you're expecting more.

I was willing to and did pay close to $30k for a perfectly optioned car (RWD 6MT M Sport without Nav in my eyes). Only 49 RWD 6MT M Sports were produced in total, when you start limiting options, it's very hard to find a car. The asking prices out there reflect the market but I'm not a fan of the Bluewater car a few posts up, though.

In an ideal world I would have bought a cheaper example and done an M3 front clip swap. I don't have the garage space or the time so a unicorn was the solution and I haven't regretted the decision for a minute. FWIW, my E36 is still sitting without an engine going on 3 years(!).

Some inspiration for everyone pondering -

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I like my car. Valuation is a very personal thing.

They're good cars and represent the last of the inline 6 NA market wagons in the US market. They're keepers, but to be a special driving experience that compares with the value of the M3...I'm not so sure. And that's where one's personal objectives come into play.

Undercutting EAG! This is almost the same car as the one EAG has had listed at $30k for quite some time now. RWD and less miles! Just doesn’t have Xenons. Almost half the price!

2012 BMW 328i on Cars.com

This appears to be an amazing deal. If it was an Xdrive with Xenons I’d be heading to that dealer to trade in my E82.

+1

M3 bits here and there can get an E91 some of the way there.

The E9X chassis is as heavy and technologically advanced as I can cope with. The F and G generation cars do nothing for me.

Seems like a pretty good deal for a 6MT, if you want x-drive. Good luck!

100% agree. A 230hp E91, especially an x-drive example, is nothing short of boring to drive, 6MT or not.

If anyone is interested in a 6MT N52, I'll sell them a nice E90 330i 6MT (original owner) + E91 328i RWD combo that *together* are substantially less than what some people are paying for one E91. Fun driving in the E90 330i 6MT ZSP in Electric Red and then use the silver E91 RWD auto car for hauling stuff, parking where you don't care, etc.
Is this really possible? I checked realoem and if you compare the driveshafts between a rwd e91 and a rwd e90, they are different.

Also, just for fun I checked e91 rwd and xi and the driveshafts have different mounting to the transmission.

The E90 330i had a different driveshaft design than later E90s (it had front and rear guibo joints for example), but the length is the same between E90 and E91.

However, the point of my post was that I'd sell them two fully functional very good condition cars, the E90 330i ZSP 6MT and the E91 RWD auto, for less than the prices people are paying for an E91 6MT.

Ah yes sorry I was digressing, though I did understand your point, since I am legitimately interested in the swap process. We did not have any issues for my N54 + 6MT swap into my e91 since the entire motor + trans etc were swapped over, but if I wanted to do it again and keep the N52, the info you provided would be useful.

On another side note... do you still have your E3? I remember saving photos of your car from another forum if it's the same one in your profile photo. It was an inspiration for me when I used to have my '76 Bavaria many years ago.

Getting ready to post mine on BaT. Detailed today, polished and sealed the headlights, and polished and sealed the paintwork as well. Cleaned and treated the leather and vinyl trim.
