Whatever the BMW oil is. I change it every 5k or so miles... Get a discount when I buy in bulk, and I have it done at an independent shop... but I watch them put it in. One place, I saw them take my filter and stash it away, probably to be reused... *sigh*

have you guys heard of Eneos full syn oil? I have been asking many questions about it the last couple of days. seems that it's not a very well known product but a lot of folks are swearing by it. a friend of mine (2007 Nopi drag champion) just got introduced to it, he was a skeptic being that this is Japanese oil mfg....but after trying it and testing then dyno, he was so impressed he is now using it on his cars!
the Honda F1 team uses it, etc....here's the link. http://www.eneos.us/web/ Any thoughts? |

it's only 3k after the change lol. the car seems to run slightly cooler after the change, maybe a tiny bit more power (that could be in my head). For the next change I would consider trying amsoil, motul, and eneos, all of them in 5w-40.
