Seriously Considering DINAN flash
Hey Guys! I am seriously considering the dinan tune and would just like the
guys who have the tune to let me know really quick what they think. I am not into dynos or anything like that and just want an increase in power. Does it feel like another car? I love the way the car feels now and just need to know if the power increase is worth the 2g's ps ive searched the posts, just want to see some new opinions.

Dinan is good if you dont want to mess with any wires, but if you want the best bang for the buck go with a JB2....

Saying im not worried about bang for buck is kinda a dumb statement. I just want an upgrade that I dont have to worry about codes and great power increase.

Let's see, OP has a question about the Dinan Flash and receives:
E90 Scoreboard 1 post "Get a Procede" 3 posts "Get a JB" 0 posts Dinan Reviews OP check Orb's, Purplewidows, Kelvin100, Ybbizz and my review (just to name a few). There are many reviews available, just search a bit. I have the Flash and love it.

If I wasn't such a lazy butt I'd delete all these irrelevant posts that do not address the OP's Q. Plz, no more posts advocating other piggys/flashes. He wants input on the Dinan.
My 2 cents: the 2k is expensive (for me). But everyone that got it seems thrilled -- 50 whp will do that for you. BMW will never forgive you if you do it -- see the lease thread. On the other hand, they won't forgive you for using any of these engine mods, so you have to lie or at least not say anything if you go that route. That might tell you something.

i heard its decent but a bit expensive... other tunes for cheaper will give you at least 60 whp... 100 horses, but 60 to the wheels
for 500$ cheaper too... you can spend that 500$ on a BOV or CAI

Like the OP, I am strongly considering this option - just biding my time until spring. So anthing you guys have to say good or bad is of great interest to me (and many others I suspect). |

you're right...some of the cheaper tunes might beat a Dinan flashed car....well maybe...if you don't go into limp mode. Read the posts...some are having a lot of problems.
And, you may want to consider the longer term effects to the car. No one really can tell you how much increased power output this new engine can handle and for how long. A friend does have a piggyback for 15K without a problem. Also, no one knows for sure, if BMW won't be able to ascertain if there was in fact a piggyback, if they have a suspicion...like blown turbo. My question is: If BMW voids a warranty due to detection of a piggyback, what will the manufacturer do? There has been some representations out there. |

In the end you might get some money, but not enough to pay for your motor, or car.... Also, not all piggybacks are going into limp all the time. Please don't make such broad generalizations....

I do recall a certain tuner indicating that their piggyback is not detectable. So I think that would make them liable.
I did not say all tunes are having problems...I said some...did not want to bash. I like to speak from personal experience and since I don't have a tune yet I can only restate what I have read here. From my recollection, the only tune that is having limp issues is the Vishnu. Again, we don't know what percentage of users are having problems. But it is scaring for new owners considering this mod.... i do like the prospect of having the most power possible...but don't want hassels and potential mechanical breakdowns...For me the warranty issue is key...I dont like the idea of deceiving ppl but thats me... Can't wait to see what Dinan Stage 2 numbers are like...I hope the upgraded Oil cooler is not necessary....but be cost prohibited. |

Who gives a shit about what people do with their money, or what tune they end up getting? I don't care if not ONE more person gets the Dinan flash. That means my car is more exclusive haha. But seriously people, WHY is Procede getting a PASS for limping frequently, throwing codes, etc. but costing less? Why can't people just share information about tunes on here without bitching and knocking other tunes?
