Yes, 6MT with cooler. And I get 295 temps on track within a few laps, no problem. That's when ambients are 80+.

Oil temps don't change with or without Procede.

OEM cooler does not seem real effective.

On street, it's quite effective. I've never gotten higher than 265-270, even in heavy canyon running.

On track, marginal at best.

My friends have had the same experience as you. They love the OEM for regular driving but on the track they still get limp mode although not quite as fast as with no oil cooler.

I am going to test this out at the gingerman track next week cant wait to see how it does. I got a OEM equiped car going with me so should be interesting. If someone is local and has the Dinan oil cooler would like to meet up for the track event it would be great to see how the three oil coolers match up.

Just PM me.

I just checked out Vince's car. I am very impressed - we went out for a cruise and the max temps we saw was about 240f. We drove it very hard for about 30 mins. Anyone who knows Vince and how he drives, know's what i am talking about!

The most interesting thing was how fast his temps dropped once we started cruising. It dropped to 220f from 240f in less than 5 mins. (I actually timed it at 3.25 mins).

we did the same runs today with my car (335i coupe, procede,no oil cooler) - it actually hit the dreaded limp mode at about half way!

Really cant wait to get this oil cooler, I am personally going to get the BMW retrofit and then upgrade to V K Motorwerks oil cooler to save some change.

Good job!

I can't wait for this! I'm really excited for it, I really feel that I need one of these!
btw I have a question cus I'm really getting me confused, I have the factory oil cooler and in city driving my temps are 235-350, driving hard it goes up to 250, and at the dragway if i got my temps to 255 i would get the reduced engine power warning sign. How are you guys driving at 295 temps and not having any issues?
if anyone was wondering I just have a BMC air filter and JB2H

Do you have a 6MT or an auto tranny?

The autos have been shown to have problems with coolant temperatures. Makes sense since the coolant radiator in an auto is partially used to cool the tranny fluid. Slushboxes will go limp based on coolant temps even when oil temps are nice and low.

If you have a 6MT, I don't know what to tell you...

See this guy's charts...
