whats the size and offset of your wheels? I want an aggressive 18in setup.

I have 19x9.5 et 35 with 285s, lowered maybe two inches. Rub like crazy - worst of it on the fender meets bumper.

I think you will notice a big difference. Do you have an LSD? To be honest, 600+ whp is going to be difficult to hook up no matter what you do. Those tires should definitely help though. Beyond that you can go with the R888 or something like that.

WaveTracLSD, rear diff lockdown, AKG black subframe bushings. Install for power upgrades is next month.

18x8.5 et 35 245/40 (wanted 255/35 but was on back order)
18x9.5 et 35 285/35
Tires are Nitto NT05.
You'll have to do some body work to fit aggressive wheels and tires. If you're really want traction, more aggressive/sticky tire> aggressive wheel.

If you're making that much power and want more grip just get a toyo r888 or hankook rs3. 285's should be more than plenty of width, your car just might more power than what's usable and even efficient. I'd focus more on making power in the right places under the curve rather than just a high peak hp number.

I'm looking for a daily driver. Rain, miles, etc. I average 40k miles a year. If there's a race tire that's quiet, gets 20 000+ miles, and works in the rain, I'll look. Toyo are race day tires, not suitable for rain or high miles. Looking at the RE11 for extreme summer as an alternative.

Maybe it's me but I can't seem to find any brands that make a 19x10.5 wheel that has a 5x120 bolt pattern and a 38-40mm offset. Anyone have any ideas? Thx

I feel your pain. Over a year ago I invested a lot of time looking at wheels. 18" or 19", how wide, what offset..... The wheels that looked be the best (to me) did not come in the size and offset I wanted. I decided to go with 18's and got the Apex wheels. At first I wasn't thrilled with another CSL style wheel, but these look more aggressive in person than in pictures. I thought I remembered VMR having some 19's with the offset I was looking for. Apex also has some 19's that I recall.

Here is a some pictures just to give you an idea.

9.5 et30 and 10.5et40 would be a good choice. You might need front camberplates depending on how wide you want to go on the front. 245/35/19 should fit without camberplates.

I know the pre-lci sticks out 8mm less, and the coupe supposedly has a little more room. I didn't really think about the convertible being different, but it makes sense.

I think the space is the same between coupe and vert but the 4 door is smaller space for tires. I didn't know they added 8mm in the LCI though. Hmmmmm

Yeah thx but I can't find anyone with wide tires on a vert. I'm looking at these. They're coming out from Forgestar. 2 piece maybe make the centers candy apple read, rims polished like in the pic. Just need to get the offsets and max sizes I can fit. They can be made to any offset and come in 19x8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, and 11. What do you guys think. Car is artic white with saddle interior.

Hi Fundguy,
I'm in the same boat, need to put down more of the power this modded engine is putting out, and my PSSs are not grippy enough. it was surprisingly hard to find decent wheels with the right offset and matching tires. Have you checked out the HRE flow form wheels? I just ordered a set of FF15s in 18x9 ET35 and 18x10 ET40 for my DD; should be getting them in 2-3 weeks. Cost was $2700 + tax & shipping, total was about $3K, not sure if that is in your budget but HRE makes really good wheels and these are a lot cheaper than their forged wheels ($1800 each). Don't know about wider sizes, but call HRE and talk to Greg, he's the flow form guy and helped me out a lot. I'm also going with the RE-11s, in 245/40/18 and 275/35/18. The RE-11s are stickier than the PSS, quieter than the other tires in the extreme performance summer category, and have decent wet traction. My buddy has them on his 335i; I drove his car and really liked them.

BTW I considered Forgestars but was scared off by some reports on long delays and bad paint jobs.

Off topic, but how are you liking the Stop Tech brakes? That's next for me after wheels/tires. Did you get the calipers too or just pads and rotors?

Just got pads and rotors. The wheel I put in the pic is a new one they had at Sema. It's out soon. 3 pc and about $700 each. The brakes work as well as atock, much less dust, better looks too. Get slotted if you're going to track it. I got drilled/slotted as I'm not but I think they look better. Those are the tires I'm considering too, at least for the rear. I'm hoping to get to 285 or 295 if possible. Let me know how it turns out. Post pics.

Yeah I have Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 275/30-19 rear now with no rubbing issues. Was hoping with the right offset and maybe slight camber and fender roll I could get to 295 maybe. But I haven't seen anyone doing it.

I'm running 295/25/20 on the rear of my E92. Hankook V12 tires, rolled rear fender with a tiny pull (maybe 5mm), and lowered on KW V3's. My fender to ground height is 24.25". It doesn't rub except over big bumps and only on the inner liner, not on the fender lip.

I used to have 285/25 Nitto's without rolled fenders, then swapped to the 295's and rubbed like crazy until I rolled it. I also had to roll the part where the fender meets the bumper a lot since that was where the rubbing primarily was.

PSS are really wide tires so a 295 PSS is going to be wider than the 295 Hankook I have. But I still think it could work if you're fender is rolled. My camber is at -1.8 so it's not much at all.

No idea on my offset, it's a custom wheel - rim width is 10.5".
