Wrapping interior hard plastics in alcantara (cup holder trim, shifter trim...)

Has anyone tried this? The black hard plastics below my shifter, on my cup holder trim, and on my window armrest have started to peel. I thought instead of spending a stupid amount of money to get these replaced, I could make it look even better than stock by wrapping in black alcantara/micro suede.

I think the alcantara would look just as bad if not worse after a while. Especially in a location that you touch often.
I have heard of some people just peeling it all off leaving the black plastic underneath exposed.

In for pics... I'm considering wrapping those pieces too (also some peeling going on in my car), but may stick to traditional vinyl, maybe brushed black or something.

Are those pieces easy to remove like the standard trim? Harder? Or need to be wrapped while installed? Any suggestions welcome.

Also curious for pics on how OP's turns out.

Trim should just pop off.

You can use those trim removal tools or a screwdriver and some careful hand.

Try and door panel trim piece first so you get an idea of how's installed and also watch out for the electrical connections

Thanks. Just to confirm you're talking about the trim near the window switches, door handles etc., and not the typical door/dash trim that often cones in wood grain and people wrap with CF etc.

My trim is already wrapped, just wanting to do those other parts near the switches and handles etc.

I would remove the rubber coating that is peeling before wrapping. I think the rubber coating will just lift with the vinyl.

Thx!
Any "best practices" for removing that coating? Just scratch/peel or is there a better approach?
