If you are going to correct the width, why change the aspect ratio from 35 to 30?

Price drop. Slowly parting out the car and finding stock-ish parts.

What's the tread life looking like on the tires? Miles? Run flats? TPMS? Any rubbing issues? Why the larger tire size?

219m.
Michelin Pilot Alpin Snow tires.
Still a lot of life left.
Less than 3k miles, I don't drive this car in the winter. They're just used to sit outside.
No rubbing with a 8.5 +22 square setup.

513m
Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Fronts still meaty, Rears are half way.
7-8k miles.
No rubbing.

No TPMS.

And can you rephrase the question of "why the larger tire size"? What do you really want to know? I really don't understand the purpose of this question.
But my initial response is... WHY NOT!!!
