Ive no idea. Unfortunately people were told by the government of the time to go diesel & that seems to have been the wrong advice.
I'm guilty of owning a diesel transit van & I can forgive someone for driving a diesel estate or maybe a saloon but there can be no excuse for owning a diesel coupe or convertible....that's just wrong

there something about a diesel i like, i don't know if i can put my hand on it....

got a high compression 2.1 litre i built and put in my classic beetle on ITBs
a KTM dirt bike with a bog bored 540cc lump and just sold a zx9r

so i do love petrol engines, but just something about it!

The government say a lot of things!

oh yeah and the petrol engine was patented 9 years roughly before the diesel

Maybe we should all go back to steam. There some interesting devolpments with the steam external combustion engine
