Is this a trick question, like "When was the War of 1812?" 2008 cars are made in 2008, no?

From what i heard, Germany have vacation in August; at the same time they modify assembly line to start production in September.

Yes, but the non-German factories continue to work ( they have vacations other times )

There are occasional exceptions to the normal Sept build start, as for example with the E92 starting up in July when it was initially released, & the E60 turning over in March. But no reason to think anything other than Sept this year for the E90s. Not sure about the M3s.

Actual start of production for a new model can vary, but the launch is usually September or March ( E92 started production earlier, but customers only got their cars in September. E92 M3 is doing the same )( E90 started production in january 05, but was only launched March 05)

Things like facelifts all start in March or September

New model years start in September. Except in the USA it is sometimes changed at other times to denote a change in the car, but this is pure marketing.

So September or March are for model launches and facelifts and some feature changes.

If you got a earlier car, its not a 06 and your dealer lied to you
