I live within 4 miles of my workplace and parking is a bitch, so I bike commute. It's easier, faster and and I love the exercise.
When I do drive it's usually to the mountains or the coast, that's a least 120 miles round trip. That's the reason I bought a BMW. |

I agree with you on the longevity side...but like airplanes, if you really love a car, anything can be maintained/repaired to last for a very long time until you can no longer get parts or justify the costs. And for $56 of depreciation a day...I'd be out enjoying my disappearing money! Depreciation really sucks, but I think if the depreciation or cost per mile of a car feels excessive to its owner, the owner may have bought a car that is too expensive for his budget. I personally won't buy a car I cannot afford to drive unless it has a prancing horse or something exotic on the front! |

I love my e90, but it's purely a commuter car (to and from work) and for chores. I only live 3 miles on bike or 4 in car away from work, but have another business that I often have to leave work for in the middle of the day. I'm sure I'm caking up my if.

Drive 70-80 miles a day, about 75% being highway. Was worried about a 6spd being my main daily driver but its been a blast.
Have my wifes 92 Miata to putt around in anytime I want to give the BMW a breather but the poor Mazda is on its last legs and isn't a great choice for the long commute. I'm already planning her next car since I can use both because she takes the train to work. |

While I live a mile from work, I'll still drive most of the time to set my mind.

Yes. My e92 is my daily driver. I drive it to the office, the airport, the dry cleaners, the grocery store, the movies, the beach, etc. Where every I'm going and I know I'm only taking myself and one other person, it's the car I drive. Only times I don't drive it are when I know it won't suit the purpose such as to haul large objects, go camping in the mountains, deep snow has fallen, etc.

70 miles round trip to my work, but I only do 3 12 hour shifts. Its one of the best parts of the day, even with traffic. People said I would regret a manual, but not yet.

Yep, drive about 30 miles per day. We have a Touareg for family outings and weekends.

Hi, I am just outside of Zurich, so about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away, what made you go back State side?

100 miles a day round trip commute, 5 days a week.
yes it sucks putting miles on the car. but i spend a minimum of 2 hours a day driving, and life's too short and valuable to not try and enjoy every minute of it. with all that driving, what if i get into an accident and die tomorrow? what good would a low mileage car be at that point? cars are just things, they will come and go no matter how much we baby them. (and believe me i baby mine as much as i possibly can) |

Mine is daily driven. Why?
"ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE" not "ULTIMATE GARAGE QUEEN" granted, my commute is 5 miles one way,
