I'm back - 2013 335is DCT Build Thread
My E9x friends, I have missed you.
As I was a member years ago, building one of my first cars a 2009 E92 I had fallen madly in love with this platform. It is such a beautiful vehicle, with great driving characteristics that I could never get back for the money. I had sold my 09 335i back in 2013 for a M235i which I absolutely hated - at that point I started to search for a new car after only a few weeks of ownership. After a year of searching I found a 2015 brand new 981 Cayman S - I was in love with driving again. As the mod bug hit me on my P car, I slowly started to put that vehicle in track only duty. Now, with having a dedicated track car, I wanted to have something I could mod and enjoy on the street. My heart sent me back to the N54 engine. I was able to pick up a 2013 335is with 60,000kms (45,000 miles) for relatively cheap. The best thing, the car was an exact replica of my previous E92 which I loved so much. Space grey metalic on Saddle brown. The only difference, is this car has a DCT transmission. Here is a picture the day I put the car in the garage for the winter. At time of purchase of the E92 - I knew my plans. To make a car I can drive enjoyably on the street and modify it tastefully. So, the parts purchases started and I want to document my build on this thread. As I work, I'll keep lots of photos uploaded. I know people love photos, so here we go! Completed mods / Waiting on parts: Engine:

Going to put it on my alignment rack tonight, install new M3 control arms & do a final ride height adjustment.
Fronts were about $2750 USD.

I'm trying to go hard! Got to get a new sway bar link (stripped it by accident). Put the car on the rack and didn't have enough time. I'll align it tomorrow and get the M3 control arms put on.
I'll update with a photo of final ride height.

I dusted an M235i the other day, much to the drivers dismay. Car was beautiful though, especially in the rear view. Im not quite FBO yet, will go hunting for bigger game soon.....a lot of Lambos driving around my hood waaaaaay too cocky.
