Some information and a few questions on the BMW Performance Steering Wheel V1 (with electronic display)
Part Numbers: BMW Performance Steering Wheel V1 (32 30 0 442 170) Part numbers, wire harness: - 61 12 2 212 796 - wire harness, Performance Steering Wheel - 61 13 8 364 664 - Connector, 12 pol. female (socket), (Tyco 965776-1 B) (to PSW Control Unit) (A6 on BMW installation diagram) - 61 13 8 364 646 - Covering cap, 12 pol. connector (Tyco 1-967415-1) (to PSW Control Unit) - 61 35 0 444 602 - Control Unit, Performance Steering Wheel (PSW) (P-Lenkrad) ($139.45) (61 35 2 212 797 for V2) - 61 13 8 373 575 - Connector, 2 pol. male (pin), (AMP 1-968654-1) (A5 on BMW installation diagram) - 61 31 9 122 381 - Coil spring cartridge (Slip ring) (w/additional 3-wire cable from top) - 61 13 6 954 518 - Connector, 12 pol. female (socket) (Tyco?) (to Coil spring cartridge) (replaces 61 13 6 954 516) (A7 on BMW installation diagram) - 61 13 1 393 724 - Pin, female (socket), for 12 pol. and other connectors (for A3, A4, A5 and A7 on BMW installation diagram) I got my PSW without the A7 (12-pin, white) connector that plugs into the back of the new Coil Spring Cartridge (Slip Ring) (White/Red, White/Brown and White/Blue wires) and without the 3-pin connector on the Coil Spring Cartridge (White, Yellow and Green wires) that connects to the 3-pin connector inside the steering wheel (Red, Black and Green wires). Managed to locate part numbers for the connectors but I need the connection between the Coil Spring Cartridge three wires (Yellow, White and Green) and the Steering Wheel three wires (Red, Black and Green) Follow BMW installation manual and DO NOT reverse the order of the pins from old 6-pin connector on the back of the Coil Spring Cartridge to the new 12-pin (white) connector. Use the pin number designators (1-1, 2-2, 3-3, ...) The pin order is reversed inside the Coil Spring Cartridge to the top 6-pin connector. If you reverse the pins you will get Restraint System errors and horn will be on as soon as you start engine. Can someone please send me the pin to pin connection of the three wires comming out of the top of the Coil Spring Cartridge (White, Yellow and Green) to the three wires inside the steering wheel (Red, Black and Green)? Thanks |

See my last post. It has all part numbers you need to make the wire harness and it includes part numbers for the wire harness and the control unit.

I have DSC deactivated & Active Steering deactivated / failed / malfunction warning after upgrading my steering wheel via DIY instructions @ http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244795 and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I tried doing the steering wheel sensor reset but that didn't fix the warning light. any suggestions?

Hello guys, I have an V1 wheel here without any other needed part. Can someone confirm me that the V1 Wheel works with V2 Control unit?
The comments here are confusing, someone says "yes, it works..." and some "no".... maybe one of you did it with success and can confirm me... |
