just figured something out I thought i'd share with all of you that are having difficulty getting your phonebook to sync. I just got a new blackberry 8700, which is on the list of approved BMW devices. The phonebook, for some reason, would only transfer my first six entries. After much searching, I figured out why....

The car downloaded the first six entries...and the 7th entry in my phonebook was a "Group email list". As that was an email entry and had no phone number fields, the car didn't recognize it as a number and hence thought the phone book was complete. Once I deleted the group, the entire phone book synced immediatly.

The solution??? Name all your group email lists ZZ-------. Therefore they will be at the end of your book.

Thanks for the info...that's great news. I get my car at the end of May and have been worried about this issue because I have aBB 7290. Looks like I better get an 8700 before the car gets here! By the way how many entries are in your address book? I have like 500 and ofcourse only use a select few regularly. Do you recommend dowloading the whole address book? If so does it get auotmatically updated if you make changes while away from the car?
