*** Jehnert Door Boards e90/91 ***
Hi, I bought one set of Jehnert door boards, identical to the ones you see in the manufacturer's link below. I never installed them, so my loss is your gain. http://www.jehnert.de/en/shop/e90e91...y-soundsystem/ Included in the set is the following: (2) door boards (8) Jehnert 6.5" mid bass drivers (1) Pair Jehnert Flatline 4" components (4" mids and 1" tweeters, incl. crossover) (2) Crossovers for the midbass (2) Underseat adapters Once installed, you will have a total of (8) mid bass drivers, 3 in each door and 1 under each seat, rocking your world. You will need 4 channels of amplification, 2 for the 4" components and 2 for the mid bass drivers. I was planning to run 150W to each component and 400W to each seat of 6.5's, but of course you can do as you please. As far as integration into existing OEM systems is concerned, I believe it would be a fairly simple electrical hook-up into an existing L7 or Dirac/Individual Audio system. Run the 4" components off the OEM amp, and use a Technic harness to direct frequencies below 200Hz (already crossed-over by the OEM amp), through an external amp back into the stock wiring and into the doors/underseats. You will need to run one pair of wires from the underseat locations to the doors (to connect the 6.5s in parallel), otherwise you could use the existing factory wiring for everything else. The people who sell these have told me you will not need a subwoofer with this system, but I'm sure if you already have one it will work great to run the mid bass bandpassed between say 50Hz and 200-250Hz. The door boards are lined with durable black faux leather, which (I have been told) is a perfect match to the OEM vinyl or leather. The system is currently at a friend's house so pictures upon request only right now. Just trying to gauge interest right now and I will update with pictures later on if necessary. The 4" components are gently used, run off a stock L7 system by a friend (18W per side max). They are guaranteed to be in "as-new" condition. As most of you know, I've been around the block a few times when it comes to audio installs in 3-series BMWs, and I did my research before buying this system, and I can tell you that this is definitely one of the best investments you can make for your car. Let me know if you have any questions. Asking $900 shipped.

I bought the same set but with real leather. We bought them together and his have been boxed up at my house except to remove the highs and inspect the door boards. The faux leather is hard to distinguish from the real leather.
I love the sound of them. I'm running 2 Arc Audio XDi 1200.6 amps. 300 watts to each 6.5" set. 150 watts to each mid and tweet and 600 from each amp to 1 voice coil of an IDMax15. With a JBL MS8 for processing. System sounds phenomenal! They do move some air!

Dayum, wish I had the $ now for this! Plus I have a convertible and would likely loose most of the trunk space to amps if did this and along with that wife unit wouldnt be happy that she would have to cut down on clothes when go on road trips.
Anyone not buying is braindead, new is $1,098 Euro, which at todays conversion is $1,194 US. GLWS |
