Question N54 335i Water Pump Issues!!! Please HELP!!! :(

Hey yall, so last year I got a 2007 e92 335i with idrive. I have it currently on MHD stage 2+ with supporting mods to run ok(FBO), when i originally bought the car it was tuned on cobb with dps fmic, and chargepipe. I put on BMS dual cone intakes and tialsmart dual bovs and retuned it on mhd to stage 2+. when i retuned and drove for a while, i noticed a water pump code. (2) 2E83-DME Electric Coolant Pump, power-reduced operation. AND 2E85-BSD, message; electric coolant pump missing. I did some research and figured water pump was going out. bought genuine one on FCP euro and replaced. cleared codes, bled the water pump to make sure it cycled which it did and still does. I still have the same codes remaining. Not sure what is wrong, took it to the dealer, they untuned it and drove and said no codes so it has to be tuner. That doesnt make sense though. I NEED HELP?!?! pump works and cycles, tried coolant target on stock, performance, and track. with all the code still comes back. I figure I could replace it againnn but it does cycle and work, car never overheats. HELP

Unplug the IBS. IBS code will remain, WP codes should go.

Did you replace the thermostat? You should always replace the thermostat when you replace the water pump.

Replace the Thermostat & report back

Will I notice anything bad about just an ibs code?

You probably need something like INPA or ISTA to clear your codes and diagnose.

Just a thought, I replaced an alternator on my last Z4,E85 and it took out the IBS. Water pump would run at full speed all the time. Changed alternator, again and all was good with the water pump.

There’s 4 bus users on the BSD bus line - water pump, alternator, IBS and the oil level sensor.

Unplug them one at a time - clear the each time and find the culprit.

The 4 of them share the line so if one of them have a problem it will affect the other 3.

The thermostat probably lasts longer than the average water pump, but because of its location and price point, it's a good idea to replace it "while you are in there"

We ran it stock, no codes came up, but driving a lot slower and sluggish as I have parts to run tuned. But still drove for a while and no codes. Switch it back to stage 2+ mhd and codes came up again same 3. Even tried it on MHD stage 2 (lower power ) but codes still come back up!

So then maybe just replace whole BSD line as one? I did get new ibs cable and ibs itself. I did some reading and it could be something with the power distribution block on top of the battery. I hear the ibs cable is connected to water pump which is connected to power distribution block and could be the culprit

Ouch. The power distribution block isn't cheap

Oh I got you now haha, I replaced water pump and ibs, T-stat and also did oil level sensor a while back. I'm wondering if I may need to just replace the water pump again being these are the main codes but it does cycle and work, car does not overheat 🤔

I have yet to try this, so unplug alternator? See if I get codes? Then plug it in? unplug water pump? Check for codes? Then plug back in? I'm kind of confused on this process!

Any advice would help! I hear alternator could be a cause, but why would I get water pump codes if the alternator is bad? I understand they share the same line but wouldn't I get alternator codes if alternator was bad?
