Sirius Retrofit

Hi All,

'09 E90 LCI, without iDrive, but with S693A (wired for satellite), and I want to add Satellite radio. I did the research and know that I need:

1. Sirius tuner (reason for my post, question below)
2. Retrofit kit (65110432318) - bracket, fan, bolts, etc.
3. Move satellite fiber into the MOST loop (have PDF)
4. Get coded (bimmer-tech or dealer)

My question is about the tuner.

The older p/n 65129192274 is easier to find but it was superceded by 65129278266 which is insanely priced and not available used as far as I've seen.

I want to find out if the older tuner still be able to be coded. I'm not well-versed in the coding world, but I'm thinking that the software may look for/insist on the newest tuner. RealOEM says "exchangeable retrospectively" for both p/n's but I don't know WTF that means :-)

Appreciate any assistance.

UPDATE:
bimmer-tech confirmed the older unit can be coded, one from eBay on the way.

I found one at my local yard out of a 07 335I for $23, installed it on my 09 coded it and worked fine, I don't remember the part number though

Update: Got a nice condition of the older p/n off eBay.
