Philips X-tremeUltinon LED gen2

Any one tried to fit the Philips X-tremeUltinon LED gen2 H7 in place of the standard H7 globes in the low beam on valeo headlights?

I have them in the high beam position. High beams are plug and play. The low beam back cover is too shallow to fit the large, finned, heat sinked LED bulb base.

Someday I'll modify the low beam covers to fit the large bulbs, but not soon. The Philips LEDs are significantly brighter than halogen. I'm concerned about glare, but am sticking my neck out on the assumption that Philips is not your typical aftermarket vendor, and have designed the bulbs for the intended application as a replacement for halogen H7s in non-projector usage.
