Rim repair, Turbax anyone?

Thought I had a nail in a rear tire, was loosing pressure every 2-3 days. Took it in to a tire shop just to find out I have a cracked rim, the inside lip has a 3/4" fine crack letting air out slowly. The shop manager recomended I take it to Turbax in south Miami to repair it.
I did a quick search here and could not find any posts on this place, has anyone had any experience with them? I called and they said about $100 to repair, assuming no other cosmetic work.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has worked with them, or if you have another shop you recommend near Miami.
Thanks
Steve

I dealt once with turbax when I needed to get some wheels painted they did a great job, this was about 12 years ago or so.

I recently found a new shop called the rim doctor, its located in Hialeah, Manny the owner knows his stuff been in the business for 15 to 18 years. They bored out my X5 wheels correctly with a CNC machine. They do ALL types of work on wheels, paint, curb rash, bore, whatever you need they can get it done.

Last week I was there and I can vouch that they are legit in rim repair. My suggestion is that you take the wheel there and so that they can properly give you a quote, if the rim is heavily cracked than most likely no one will touch it, but they need to see it.

Good luck,

stern they can repair the wheel no problem. they will charge anywhere from 120-150 per wheel. they might give a discount if you do more than one wheel repair. but we use them once in while at our shop when we have a wheel to get repaired.
