The 808 #16 camera, has some great reviews and is apparently very well respected in the RC community. It doesn't have as wide of a viewing angle, but it is 720p, cheap as shit, and it is so small that you can mount it basically anywhere. I don't really want a big visible camera in my car when parking in southside Chicago because that's just asking for it and it seems like you could easily hide one of these without it being noticable at all. Only downside is, you have to manually turn it on everytime, but I did that with my radar detector anyway so I have no problem hitting a little button on this while my car takes a minute or so for the idle revs to drop. EDIT: You can mod it for wide angle, even better!

i didn't read the detailed specs but just make sure this is real 720p and not interpolated to 720p.. the dashcams around that price range are usually interpolated

Watched some youtube videos of it, looks good enough for it's purpose to me.
It seems like the smallest and most stealth option I can find so I may give it a shot.

You could always mount your phone on dash as well, if your looking for alternative that is.
There are many apps on the market, I use an android app on my International HTC One X, works great, have it bluetooth synced for calls and can use it as a dash cam with 720p/1080p Vid, internal storage of 32GB, you can also select the quality/compression of vid if storage is an issue. |
