Who do your own winter/wummer tire change overs?

I've always taken my car out for change overs (for about $25-30 tax in) but now considering investing in a set of tools and do it myself. I don't know if it is worth it considering the cost and time. What do you guys think?

I do it myself...
Got an awesome low profile jack at clubprice for $100 bucks! I figured it was worth it since I have to change my tires at least twice a year which comes up to almost $72 total ($36 each time). I also take advantage to remove rust, paint my hubs and apply antiseize.
I say do it yourself

I change em myself as well. The jack is handy for other jobs as well. I also have 4 cars in the family that have winters, so it makes it more worth it to diy.

DIY ! Gives you a chance to clean up the wheel hubs as well .........

Well if cost is what is holding you back there's always a cheap way out.

$25 scissor jack, $10 breaker bar, $1 17mm socket, $20 torque wrench

$60 all in, use as much as you as often as you want.

Thanks for input guys. I am pretty much sold on DIY. I am willing to spend a few bucks on equipment, and as a matter of fact, had started to gather a few gears here and there when they were on special. Only thing outstanding is a floor jack. Any good recommendations that are low enough (will be lowering my ride soon) but yet below, say $150?

I picked up a monstrous, heavy brute of a low-profile jack at Princess Auto a number of years ago. The thing is a tank to move around, but it's worked flawlessly changing my wheels, my wife's wheels and usually one or two friends' cars each season. I can't remember what I paid for it exactly, but I'm sure it was less than $100.

Canadian Tire often puts their "Maximum" torque wrenches on sale -- pick one of those up too and you're off to the races.

I havent found a jack low enough to get under my car with an adapter or hockey puck on it for the jack mount.

I made a tiered piece of wood I reverse onto with one wheel that props the car up enough for any jack.

Check out the Torin Black Jack from Costco for $99. I have this along with the CT Maximum 1/2" drive torque wrench, breaker bar, and a 17mm deep socket. Good to go!
