ticking/grinding noise from rear wheel well
i just was driving home and noticed that my car was make a a really loud ticking noise from the rear driver side (from what i can tell). Only really noticeable when driving slow.
i searched the forum for ticking and grinding and a lot of threads have said they had had the have their rear diff replaced but those were all manual cars. my car is an auto XI. could this be the same thing?

Could be, or could be a bad wheel bearing. Haul it in.

You description leaves a bit to be desired, it could be something as simple as a stone caught in your brakes. I have had this a number of time on my Porsche, a small stone gets on top of the brake pad a makes a horrible sound as it contacts the brake disc.
