1200$ for a HPFP Replacement?? WTF
I just called my dealer here in Montreal and they quoted me 1200$ CAD to replace my HPFP.
No I do not have a warranty (vandalised and rebuilt title) Does anyone know what is involved in replacing my HPFP. I mean I am very mechanicaly able. (done a few tear-downs, and turbo installs on my own) I mean is that little fkin bugger really 637$. + nuts, bolts, gaskets?? geez.

There was a do it yourself posted here (I think by AMS), that you could probably take to an independent shop to get a quote for labor. The cheapest place I have seen the pump is at Tischer BMW, getbmwparts.com.

I am the one that wrote up the HPFP install and its really not that hard to do yourself and requires fairly basic tools Most of which can be used for future jobs on the N54.

Good DIY but there's no need to take off the intake manifold, or microfilter. All you need a long allen like the one pictured.

So it's decided then. I'm doing it myself.
Ticher for the parts Stella Artois for the suport And my best friend... for all the hard to reach things that I'll be too lazy to reach for. Thanks guys, this forum is by far the best in terms of response time and quality of help compared to the plenty of others I was on when I had my Nissan's, Toyota's, Merkur's.
