I wouldn't want to be the one that broke this news to the Motorsport Development/Engineering Team. -- The fact that some one is pimping out their badges on high priced SAV's
There is saying "Respect the Badge" -- by all means it may not be an M car... But is still an ///M |

The unit in that car costs a lot of coin- and may not see it across the line. If Porsche drops the PDK, what is to say VW doesn't do the same... I meant Audi.

Good, and let's hope (fat chance) it migrates to F1 as well. Maybe then the best/consistent/smooth driver will win.
Be a master of the heel-and-toe downshift and you have my respect. Stomp on the throttle in a Steptronic or flip/push those paddle things. Not so much. But I am sure my 6M will have less resale value when its time to dump, so I will get my comeuppance. I also heard the hardtop cab may go the way of the dinosaur in the next iteration M3. Too much weight. Jeez, I could have told them that.

It would be stupid to do this with the high-torque M motor we will see. For NA the cabrio is slow, but not for a 600Nm engine (speculating ).

I do agree with many of the statements that a DSG/DCT is a luxury item. It was leaps and bounds better than autos a few years back but with the newer autos the improvement is not as great. Especially for the added cost. It dissapoints me because BMW is all about no compromises engineering and the DCT/DSG is definitely a superior item to an auto in an engineering sense. |
