Welcome to the group!! There's at least one other girl that posts from time to time, alphajen if I remember correctly. You work right down the street from where I live and I think I may have seen you/passed you on Spring Creek around Coit about 2 weeks back?? Anyway, hope to see you out at an upcoming meet!

Could have been me. I'm in that area from time to time. I see a ton of modded 335s and M3s around, but none of them ever want to run (probably because I'm a girl, or maybe they're scared of my loud e-cutouts haha)

If any of y'all see me around, say what's up. I don't bite (although my license plate suggests otherwise). lol

Funny, I might also be installing a charge pipe this weekend (shipping today, so I will hopefully have it this weekend). I haven't done one before, but it looks like it shouldn't take more than half an hour or so (anyone, am I totally off base?). If you feel like making it a learning experience we could do both of ours together if you want. Unless someone wants to come out and help both of us

You guys won't need any help, and yes, about half an hour. Well, depending on your intake. If you have the stocker, then maybe a little longer. I just installed AFE sealed intake, ER Chargepipe and AWE Blowoff Valves last week. The hardest part of the chargepipe install is getting the factory clamp off of the boot piece (not sure what it's called) that connects the CP to the intercooler. The clamp has to be cut/broken off.

I did my active autowerke CP and BOV myself. 30 minutes sounds about right, sometimes getting the stock airbox off might take some maneuvering. Just make sure you have the right torx bits for the front air piece, sensor and the charge pipe flange.

Which brands did you guys get?

Were you able to get the factory intake accordion tubes fully seated into the exposed aluminum flanges of the AFE intake box? I've tried several times and still find about 1/2" or more of the bare aluminum elbows exposed on the AFE intake. There's plenty of material for the worm clamps to tighten around but the intake elbows don't look fully seated. For such an expensive intake, the design is quite a let down.

I'm still using the stock upper charge pipe and DVs, but they're still pretty mint (2010 model). I bought a set of Forge DVs but there's no point in messing with either until I find evidence of a boost leak. The lower charge pipe has been replaced with the ETS intercooler.

Cool, thanks
I got the AA, too. A little worried that it might be too loud, now that I've seen a few youtube clips. How do you like yours?

Just had to put my stock air box back on for a dealership visit, so I guess I'll be reinstalling my DCI at the same time, haha. Pain in the ass. Next time I'll just leave it on -- my SA is not fooled by my car's under-hood stock appearance in the slightest

No, I have the gap you are talking about. I tried forever to close it, then just checked that there was enough of the pipe to clamp. I had about 2" or more inside the accordian tubes, so I just left it.

I went with the AWEs because I really like the fact that you can choose if you want to run BOV or diverter. If you get tired of the "pppssshhhh" then you just put the diverter tubes back.

On a side note...Just ordered the BMS 2.2 gal meth kit this morning. It's going to be a long 2-5 days.

Ahh, then you might have to remove the bov from the charge pipe when you put it in. I know you can squeeze it in there with it bolted on, but it makes it a lot easier with it off. I used an alan wrench and a crescent wrench and it was easy to get back on.

I got mine used and it didn't include the silicone reducer. I'm not sure about the quality of the one they include, I had to get a 5" 4 ply reducer from here
http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...ose-Transition
The 3-4" length reducer I had bought from autozone wasn't long enough, it came off twice and luckily I was with in a minute from my garage both times.

My initial impressions were that the BOV was obscenely loud lol. Which it certainly can be, but you can drive in a manner that doesn't let out the sudden loud PSSSHHH. I haven't heard anything else on an N54 to compare it to though.

Like others have said, you won't need any help, but I'd be happy to help anyways. I did mine a couple weekends ago so everything is still fresh in memory.

Maybe we can have a mini-meet/lunch/charge pipe install day if enough people want to <del>help</del>....bring beer.
