Any idea if CPO covers the cleaning? From what I hear it is nearly impossible to throw a code from bad buildup.
I also have an 07 e90 CPO'd that just had the blasting completed. I took the car to BMW of Sterling complaining about hesitation. Wolfgang, my advisor put in a PUMA to have the blasting done under "good will". It was approved in two days and I paid nothing. Maybe try calling?

Checkered Flag offers only a solution based valve cleaning... Clem, what type of cleaning are you offering? Sorry if I missed it somewhere...

Ok, sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys with detailed info. I have confirm that the walnut blaster will be here on Saturday and we are offering carbon cleaning for $400 per car.

I have three members confirmed, but I need to juggle the schedule as Ryan needs to be done by early afternoon. PM's going out shortly.Time slots now are 8, 10 and 12. There will be multiple techs here working and some overlap is needed to keep things moving. That means if you want the 10 a.m. slot, I need you here at 9:30 so your car can be prepped.

If there is enough interest, we will offer this service again on upcoming weekends.

+1! I just still don't have my car back yet. (I had it for a week and then took it to another shop for finishing touches).

Can those who get this done please post results after? I've never heard of carbon cleaning a modern engine before. But there is a first time for everything, I suppose.

You should check out the RS4 section of Audizine. A lot of info on carbon cleaning there. Unfortunately, it looks like carbon cleaning will be like an infrequent maintenance item on direct injection engines.

Man, I figured it had something to do w/direct injection. It's too bad. I wonder if running tunes which run leaner will make this less of an issue.

No fuel actually touches the intake valves. They don't get clean. High temps don't help either. Neither does BMW oem oil @ 15k intervals which isn't a true synthetic and is what most owners will follow.

+1, or just do valve carbon cleanings on a maintenance schedule! (every x amount of miles or whatever)

Hey guys, is there a chance that this will be done again in the future? BMW Annapolis wants like $950 for it. Would a Sunday or Monday be possible in the future, saturdays suck for me. Thanks

running meth will prevent them from getting dirtier, but it won't clean the valves. Walnut blast/chemical scrub them, then run meth to keep them in that condition.

What a day! Got my downpipes installed, then the Walnut blasting....my 335 has been renewed! Adam knocked out the DPs in an hour and Ryan and Paul did the valve cleaning. Great bunch of guys and they worked very hard.

Kinda beat, but will post pics tomorrow when I download them from my dig camera.

Anyone who has a higher mileage 335 should get this done as MAINTENANCE. Ryan and Paul do excellent work. more to come...
