2011 335xi 6 speed - 5/6 gear gate sometimes feels like it's grinding?
For lack of a better way to say it, it feels like my 5-6 gear gate (pushing right from neutral), is sort of lightly grinding. I can't seem to reproduce it all the time.
Some items to note: -OEM transmission fluid changed a few months ago to Redline, I think the ATF, but I'm not sure -getting into gears is fine (especially ...it's just pushing right through that 5/6 gear gate feels like there's something spinning that isn't catching -Clutch is definitely completely in when slighting right through 5/6 gear gate -Seems to be temperature agnostic, as in, it sporadically happens both when the engine is cold or hot -Linkage does not feel loose, to the best of my understanding I could understand having trouble getting into a specific gear, but I have no understanding of why pushing through a gate itself might cause some sensation of something not catching. Could there not be enough fluid in the transmission, or should I have them try the OEM fluid? Any ideas? |

Anyone got anything on this? It also feels like if I pull UP on the shifter as I push to the right, it's less likely to happen, or doesn't happen at all. And if I put any downward pressure, it is more likely to happen.
I'm wondering if the shifter bushings and shift rod bushing need replaced, or if the manual transmission mounts are bad. |
