$1600 to spend on E92 335i
Finally have some extra cash to spend on the 335i already getting the car painted at the end of the month because I have yet to paint all the M3 style body panels. But looking to get some other much needed mods done, ill list them you guys tell me what you think and if you have any recommendations. Thanks!
10% window tint all the way around MHD stage 2 tune and a tablet One step colder NGK plugs ARM 5in FMIC Stage 2 fuel pump Color changing halos and some smoked taillight overlays Note I already have decatted downpipes, going to be running E85 and shooting for 420-450hp, This is the car in its current state |

10% tint is asking for trouble imo
Back When i was in college, I had 5% on my e90 and cops would pull me over almost weekly for it. Granted it was just a warning each time, but still kind of an unnesccary hassle |

If you're looking for performance and having fun (driving) in the car you won't beat a stage 2 MHD tune. For $1600 you could easily do MHD + new LPFP and be just below 450whp on E50 fuel, and if you're okay with at least DIYing the LPFP install you could probably afford a FMIC too and then run stage 2+ and exceed your HP goal.
That said, if you aren't trying to outrun every other car on the road and find more enjoyment from a custom, modded looking car then $1600 could probably be enough to have the guys at your local car meets wetting their panties. Personally I like my 335i (in space gray like yours, too) looking mostly stock so when I smoke other cars they have no idea what hit them but YMMV. All of that is assuming you're up to date on your maintenance though, because $1600 could easily be 1/4th of what needs to be done to these cars at high miles or old age. I would skip the colder plugs if you aren't running ethanol/meth or really high boost - which I'm assuming you aren't - but a new set of factory Bosch 3-point plugs and new coils are always nice to have and will keep your n54 happy. |

Fenders and bumper will look good once painted. Definitely get rid of those 189's. Just personal opinion but I'd also get rid of anything bearing " ///M" on the car since it's a conversion. Better to let people in the know appreciate the work that's been done versus trying to advertise it to people that don't understand.

Hard to understand your post - if the only thing you have done is downpipes, then You need an fmic and tune to take advantage of them, and a cp so the plastic one doesn't blow up. That should set you back around $700.
Get new plugs, coil packs, that will set you back a few hundred more leaving you with 600 in you n54 repair fund. Fund this to $1500 for "unexpected" repairs which will come up not long after tuned. Once you've got your 1500 unexpected repairs account all set, you can safely spend anything you have above and beyond towards additional mods.

How many miles on your car? Do the intake valves need to be cleaned?
If so, I would recommend spending the money on: $300 intake valve cleaning $240 coils & spark plugs $400 5" FMIC $180 chargpipe Then run MHD stage 2+. This would require an Android device and a DCAN cable, both can be had for ~$100. You would then need the MHD license + map, which would be another $150 I believe. So total MHD tune=$250. This totals to $1370. Add BMS dual cone intakes for $95 and you're at your budget. From there, set aside some money for when things go wrong. Water pump replacement is $450, and that's if you're doing the work yourself!

10% window tint and smoked tail lights?? Don't plan on backing-up at night anytime soon.

Take care of the laundry list before you tune, or you will have trouble. 1) new plugs 2) new coils 3) intake valve cleaning 3) new injectors, if they have 100,000 miles or more on them. Second - Get - 1) Aluminum Charge pipe 2) Dual intake cones or better Cold Air Intake box like an AFE Momentum GT 3) 5" or 7" stepped FMIC 4) 1.75" Silicone inlets 5) 1.5 to 2.0" Silicone outlets Th whole idea is to max out the amount of "cold" air going to the Turbos in order to generate HP. The outlets won't generate much HP on stock turbos, but they will set you up for success (20-30hp gains) in the future on non-stock Turbos. I agree with the poster(s) about tint & savings account for your N54. 1) the second you tune, the lifespan of the injectors, coils & plugs gets cut in half. So, you'd be smart to get them from FCP Euro, where you get a lifetime Warranty. Although BAP has a sweet deal in index 12 injectors for about $1000.00 with lifetime warranty. N54's are not cheap to maintain. Trust us on that. The N54 is a great but temperamental engine at times. 2) I'd check w/ your state's law regarding "tint" and what the legal limit is. I wouldn't go over that limit. I'd also carry the receipt for that tint job, which specifically states the % put on the car, in your glove box. This way if an officer tries to write you a ticket, you can avoid that problem right, then & there. It really sucks to have to show up to court with a document that says you have removed the tint from your car. |

In before you spend all your money on mods and make your first post about misfires, VANOS issues, the car needing injectors, etc.
$1600 isn't shit, spend that on maintenance

Also, buy 1.5" gold tape and wrap the entire outlet in this before you install it. https://www.amazon.com/010394-Reflec.../dp/B0039Z5TUY Trust me on this one. Follow the DIY on the MMP website to the T. You will also need 1 SS zip tie. |
