Just sent him a text too! Can somebody please list the San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Austin people that can do walnut blasting here please? I'd love a short list of people around this general area...

Also, if you know of something that would want to go ahead and replace a valve cover gasket at the same time, that would be great!

I did - he wants to wait until he's warmer. He's willing to do a group rate of $250 each.

Also interested. In the middle of LSD install; should be wrapped in a week or so, then I'm in.

Hey guys, he's willing to do some cars this Sunday. I'm going to take him up on it - is anyone else interested?

I'm not bolted back up yet from my LSD install, so I won't be able to. But I might like to witness to confirm the guy's bona fides. Where are we talking about?

He does it from home, up in Leander. I'm happy to let you come watch him do mine - PM me for my cell number.

Team503 will have to talk to performance after the clean - it was his car.

I witnessed and can tell you that Jr. ("Sancho") is legit. He has invested in all the right tools, knows what he's doing, and does it well. My car is in line as soon as I finish up my LSD install.

I set things up with Junior to arrive around ten in the morning. He'd asked to do an earlier time than my original suggestion of early afternoon, and I'm glad he did. I may not be a morning person, but my entire day would've been gone by the time he finished.

I arrived a little bit late because I overslept - 10:30am as opposed to the original 10am - but we got to work right away. First let me tell you - Junior's E92 is gorgeous. Man keeps his ride in good shape, and I appreciate that. Sorry, I didn't think to take pics of it.

Initial disassembly took around thirty minutes, give or take. Junior did it much faster than I could have, that's for sure. It took me twenty minutes just to get the cabin filter tray and valve cover off to change my plugs and coils, and it didn't take much longer for him to pull everything off and be down to the intake runners.

He was quick, professional, and friendly. He knows his tools, and was cautious not to ding or damage my car. Turns out he's been in auto-body for a decade or so - used to work at Berli's (probably the shop with the highest reputation in Central Texas, and a well deserved one) and now works for Mercedes, I think the dealer on Airport. I appreciated his caution.

As an example, he plugged up the other intake runners to prevent any loose media from getting in the cylinder, and took the time to bump the crank (using the starter motor) to make sure the valves were always closed while he was cleaning them, one at a time.

He was friendly but not overly chatty, and we talked cars, dogs, and home ownership among other things throughout the morning. I tried my best to not talk his ear off and stay out of his way so he could work at a good pace.

Here are my valves prior to cleaning at 76,000, about ten of which with Cobb stage 2, BMS DCI, and an arRacing catted downpipe.

Here's Junior cleaning them. You can see the wand, the media mixer, and the shop vac with the BMW-specific part for vacuuming the runners. There's a short video snippet (only eleven seconds long) here.

Partway through the blasting when he was checking for chunks and the like. He took his time to be thorough, working with pick tools (that reminded me a bit too much of the dentist) to clear heavy buildup spots, and returned several times to visually inspect his progress.

It seems I forgot to take a picture of the finished valve, because I'm just that smart, but you get a pretty good idea. Everything was spotless visually.

M-Steep (Jim) joined us to chat and watch for a while about halfway through the process, which slowed us down a bit, but we finished around 2pm. I think if I'd left Junior alone and Jim and I had gone for a beer or some such, he probably would've finished an hour earlier, give or take. Either way, though, I felt happy with the time frame.

And let me tell you. Holy. Mother. Effing. Lawd. My butt-dyno tells me that I gained a conservative 30hp and at least as much torque. I now break loose all the way through 2nd and into 3rd, and my buildup was only average. I can't imagine what it's like for those with heavy buildup.

Recommended. 10/10. Five stars. Would do again (actually, I will around 130k miles or so). Price was great, he was easy to work with, did a great job, and the result was well worth it.

Hey Junior - just got my car back yesterday from some dealer service; still planning to pay you a visit in the next couple weeks.

Nice work!
