Did anyone try installing VW Wastegate Actuator Rod Clip or fab one?
I've seen multiple users mentioning this and wondering the result.
Anyone actually tried? http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20401 http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-....0T/ES2210978/ http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-0T-...062536221.html

It a different reason for rattle. The brass bushing on the turbo become loose and causing the wastegate arm to rattle in it joint and against the inside of turbo.
The clip can stop this from happen. It needs redesigned turbo wastegate. |

Clip will do nothing, the flapper rattles on the face of the housing because the vacuum gates can keep them slightly open just off the housing, this not only causing a rattle, but overheats the flapper by not allowing it to sit on the housing and dissipate heat. The bushing is not brass, if it were it would last about 20 miles, they are indeed stainless steel, and actually a very good material. The problem was the design, the original rod end was 6mm and wore out very quickly, they went to an 8mm rod, which helps, but the vacuum gate holding the flapper just off the housing would cause a rattle no matter how robust you made the parts, the best way to fix this is, to replace all the wastegate parts with beefier pieces as we do, try to remove ALL play while allowing free movement, also as we do, adjust the rods slightly tighter than factory spec to force the flapper against the housing. If all that is done and you still have a rattle, use a tuner such as JB4 to increase the WGDC at idle and low throttle inputs to keep the flapper against the housing where it cant rattle.
