Hows the sound difference between the alpine retrofit and your gladen/JL setup?

Currently have the alpine retrofit and want to go a similiar route
Thanks

In all honesty there isn't much innit between the alpine kit and the mids/highs in the gladen kit. The highs are a touch brighter for sure as I actually ran the left side gladen against the alpine right side so I could actually compare. However the Gladens are designed to handle more power but then I didn't test them against each other using the power of the JL amp so in all truth the alpines may have been up to the task.

For the effort and cost if just switching up the front end then I actually don't see the point. It only really makes sense if you are wanting to add subs in the boot etc. Otherwise just upgrade the underseats and you'll most definitely be happy with it.

I was not sure about the 313 replacements but they grew on me a little. Will be interesting to see some shots of the car once all those boxes are empty.

My point re the side skirts

the front end of the skirts seem to sit fine its at the rear where the lines change a tad here's Richard (Ao1's) old car

which had the said same issue its just the rear part of the skirt that just doesn't match if you pull the rear out slightly you do get a better line hence the "option" of packing it out slightly to pull or tweek the rear end of the skirt slightly to get the lines looking better and more uniform Raj for me this is the only negitive re fitting these but looks wise

Seems like everybody has that issue with the side skirts.. Surprised no vendors have revamped them to be like 2mm longer and fix this issue..

The rear wheel arch alignment is annoying, but not that noticeable at normal viewing level. The harder bit to get right is alignment along the door, which is a lot more noticeable. Nickos had this problem and so did I. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=14

I never got round to sorting it out on my car, but like the rear wheel arch alignment I think it's a problem with the mould, but one that could be tweaked.

Edit; You can see the door alignment on my car below. It's the same as Nickos.

Yeah I was pleased to get it so quickly (and surprised tbh). Luckily the price/shipping included all relevant taxes/duty covered so it was a straight in no issues delivery.

I personally love the BBSs and tbh everyone that's seen them in the flesh have thought the same.
They definitely go better with the bootlid now lol.

Cheers guys. I haven't got round to test fitting them yet but from the pics you have all posted up, I'd still fit them as the overall look certainly does out way the minor issues.

Defiantly, overall still worth fitting. If I was doing it again I would be very careful about aligning the door with the cill. It may require the holes in the cill to be elongated and some double sided 3m tape to keep it in place and aligned. 3m double sided tape applied to properly cleaned surfaces will stick like s**t to a blanket, but you only get one chance to get it in the right position.

3M tape is good for sure and yes will ensure fit is as best as can be.

Thanks buddy.

I do like them too but think with the bootlid and rims the M3 rep ones will probably be better suited.

So will sell these once those are fitted in a couple of months.

Boot fit from what I can make out on my iPhone looks good doesn't it Raj, with a splash of colour and having a nice faded carbon faded edge at the spoiler edge will really make this work well re being different yet subtle IMO, once those M3 skirts are fitted I think you'll stand back and raise a glass to yourself for pulling off something subtle yet attention grabbing and when this happens you know you've hit the spot
