hello.
My 320d 130kW 2008 msport suspension does have magnetic sensors in the rear and front. Did check it. But I also got the error from wheel speed sensors that are not calibrated. I chickened out and replace it back to original DSC to go trought more research, and I manage to figure it out, that if I have magnetic sensors there should be ok, but I must drive my car to calibrate the wheel sensors. Will do the swap againg go to a test drive and report. Thanks for your input by now. |

1) Do you hv active steering in ur 320d ? 2) What error code u encountered after u swap the DSC ? 3) Can u provide the DSC p/n ? 4) Normally DSC replacement will require Steering Wheel Angle sensor, DSC (lateral, rotation..) sensor and DSC pump to be calibrated but not Wheel Speed sensor. 5) If u happen that u swap the DSC again, during u bleed the rear brake pipe, please remove Wheel Speed sensor mounted with M5 screw, have a look into the sensor hole with light. If u dun see the reluctor ring like attached picture, then u have wheel speed sensor which detect magnetic encoder bearing. U can check ur car's partlist by enter the VIN no. in below link: http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog U can diagnose ur fault code using below : https://bmwfault.codes/ |

2.(cannot insert pictures) Fehler code: 5E 1F E0 01 20 92 A2 00 08 00 04 0xD360 D360 - PT-CAN Motronic_4 Plausibilitaet Fehler code: D3 5A 24 01 28 92 A2 00 08 00 04 0x5D96 5D96 - Dreichtungserkennung vorne links (for all 4 wheels) 3. DSC number (from 6zyl): 3452 6776067-01 4. Did alaign steering sensor with inpa 5. I did remove the sensor when I did the swap the first time and see it inside the hole and did not see the ring, so the wheel bearing is magnetic one without the abs ring. So i figure it out, that the speed sensors are the right one. Last edited by mtman; 10-02-2020 at 06:35 AM.. |

My car last 7 digits of vin: A320190
Retrofitted: - MULF 2 SVS HIGH with usb - Front parking sensors with new switch console - Logic 7 instead of original HIFI - FLA interior mirror - EC outside mirrors - Front isofix with oem switch and roof console - trailer coupling with oem module and instalation - replace mechanical front seats with electrial (full option) memory - and finally trying to retrofit the acc to have the "full" package option in my 320d, but not happening yet. Hopefully in the near future. |

2. Same happened to me after replaced with 6cyl DSC pump without replacing the wheel speed sensors. I had 5D96, 5DA6, 5DB6 & 5DC6 error codes and caused other LDM, ACC error codes. 5D96 DSC: Wheel-speed sensor: direction of rotation, front left 5DA6 DSC: Wheel-speed sensor: direction of rotation, front right 5DB6 DSC: Wheel-speed sensor: direction of rotation, rear left 5DC6 DSC: Wheel-speed sensor: direction of rotation, rear right means DSC received no direction of rotation data. This solved after I replaced the front wheel speed sensors from 34526762465 to 34526870075 but not for rear bcos I have reluctor ring type of output shafts. As far as I know both 34526762465 & 34526870075 are also detect magnet on the front wheel bearing. But 34526762465 is only an ordinary hall effect speed pulse sensor and 34526870075 is 3x hall sensor in one which provide speed pulse + direction of rotation, air gap data with 9bits AK-Protocol. In your case I believe can be solved by replacing front wheel speed sensors with 34526870075 and rear wheel speed sensors with either 34526870076 or 34526870077 depends on which type you have now. They must physically looks the same. These sensors can be found in ebay for about £100 from Germany or £40 from China for 4pcs. *** But better be sure, to check out the p/n of the wheel speed sensors you have now. At least your case is better than mine, ie: your car is physically and mechanically possible just by replacing the wheel speed sensors. Mine is not possible bcos of the reluctor rings. |

Just an update the kit I have is still available and is now on eBay as well as this sight. I have also lowered the price as low as I am willing to go for the kit. I will give it a couple more weeks then I will split it up.

I wonder how hard that would be...

What is your current plan, designing a circuit to take the Hall Sensor output and convert it to an AKprotocol output? I'm still researching and would be curious how to make this work with original parts but is it the case that I (we) would have to change the complete hub/driveshaft assembly? Thanks for the incitful info so far, you've save me some work at least |

For BMW 4cyl engine (without Active Steering) : 1) replace with 6cyl DSC hydro braking pump to get rid of Wheel Torque error 2) for Diesel engine - replace wheel speed sensor 34526762465 (front) & 34526764610 with 34526870075 (front) & 34526870077 (rear) only 3) for Petrol engine - replace wheel speed sensor 34526762465 (front) & 34526762466 (rear) with 34526870075 (front)& 34526870076 (rear) + replace rear wheel angular bearing 33416762317 (42X75X37) with magnetic encoder type bearing (may not need to change complete hub/driveshaft assembly as 34526870076 (rear) sensor still able to sense thru the gap between reluctor ring and wheel hub if magnetic encoder type bearing installed) I am experimenting to convert Hall Sensor output to AK protocol signals. Below AK protocol signals are obtained from the sensor while StandStill, Forward & Reverse. The circuit I constructed has solved the speed signal problem, left only the direction of rotation (picture 4 is the simulated forward signals from my circuit). I think I am almost there... Hope it works. Will update accordingly. |

If it doesn't work out, I plan to replace wheel speed sensor with 34526870076 (rear) + replace rear wheel angular bearing 33416762317 (42X75X37) with magnetic encoder type bearing.

My circuit (kind of squeeze everything into DSC compartment) solved the rear wheel speed sensor problem (speed & direction of rotation). Now no error from DSC and ACC can be activated. As I mentioned earlier, this is not recommended due to not OEM parts. But if anybody interested to experiment like what I did, I can provide details info. Still replacing the rear wheel bearings and wheel speed sensors is the best option (full OEM). But .... the ACC problem still not end yet .. My ACC speed can be set and activated, car in front also can be detected but cruise speed can not maintained (no throttle control at all). The car decelerate until speed hits 20km/hr, ACC deactivated itself. No error codes.. I think it is something to do with LDM or ACC coding setting. Anybody can help, please ?? |

Have you any tips for sourcing a 6cyl DSC? Most I see listed have part numbers that don't seem to be valid when I'm looking them up and they all look physically the same |

I found all sellers in ebay advertise with the p/n of the "control module" & the "pump" bcos thats what they can see from the item labels, while in BMW parts catalog is the p/n for the whole DSC pump unit. For example: I bought the 6cyl DSC from ebay with p/n 6775388, 6775389. And p/n in BMW parts catalog is 34516775396. They are no relation at all. Eventually, I sourced with few conditions : 1) with keyword "E90 DSC Hydro Braking Pump" 2) part dismantled from 323i, 325i, 325d, 330i, 330d, 335i, 335d with engine type N52, N52N, M57N2, N54 3) countercheck (if possible) this DSC used wheel speed sensor 34526870075, 34526870076 & 34526870077 in BMW parts catalog The older the part, the least expensive they are. Hope this helps. |

Thanks, unrulyteach !
I reflashed the LDM, ACC sensor with VIN by WinKFP again and default trace file with NCSExpert, still no help. Since LDM interface with engine (DME) and brake (DSC) for cruise control, I am going to reflash my DME with WinKFP, see whether it will work.. |

Ya, I did some precaution before flashing DME ie: backup the ECU program and clone a spare ECU using Ktag.
After successfully flash and update the ecu software, problem still the same but came out 2x fault codes : 62D4 LDM: Engine management: interface 3179 Message (request, wheel torque, drivetrain, 0xBF) incorrect, receiver DME, transmitter LDM I am going to buy a 2nd unit LDM module to swap. Hopefully is a faulty LDM problem. Otherwise, I am totally lost.. |
