I just received my adapter and the fit is perfect. There is no play at all when the adapter is mounted on the jack. It's a perfect fit.

Once I get it, I can just walk into HF or Sears and see which pad matches best, right? The one that has been sitting in the garage I'm not sure my son can lift his Celica with any more, and I know the handle is gone

Yep. If you find a jack you really like and this doesn't fit I could customize the part as well, but finding a jack with a 3" diameter minimum isn't hard at all..
