DYI Auxiliary water pump repair

Since these pumps fail very often and cost over 160 $ to replace them I made a guide and used the previous images posted by a user on the e90 german forum.

Remember to delete the error stored after performing the repair.
Also you should bleed the cooling circuit to remove the trapped air.

Enjoy

thanks for tutorial.

i want to add that some pumps impellers crack inside and also the centering guides for the impellers axle does crack. if you see plastic parts falling, please throw out the water pump side. and keep the engine side.

the water pump (the plastic part) can be separated from the motor part. they are held together using 4 screws. they are connected using a magnet on each side and completely separate from one another.

you can take the good platic part from one pump and the repaired motor part from another.
