BMW Valve Cover Gasket Leakage symptoms

Can anyone list the possible symptoms of BMW's valve cover gasket?

You'll see oil...?

Seriously though, oil will leak primarily from the rear left corner (looking from the front of the engine - though it really can leak at any point) and drip onto the exhaust manifold so you'll see oil and smell burning oil.

Do you smell burning oil when driving? Open the hood and look at the left side of the valve cover, is the silver tray covered with oil? Odds are, it’s time to change the gasket.
