I did a detailed write-up on this installation if anyone's stuck.

...couldn't leave this thread dead for nigh on a year! I picked up an '06 330i M Sport saloon in November - a 6 speed manual, Sparkling Graphite, Beige Dakota & Walnut, Pro Nav, 72k miles and a decent service history. Despite it being quite nicely specced, the original owner decided to make do with the Base stereo. Ugh. Barely audible at speed using the Aux in.

Anyway. I kept 'em peeled and picked up the Alpine kit from BMW Hull who had a couple listed on eBay back in March, for £388. Looking back, that's about an £80 mark up since robbie99 started this thread nearly a DECADE ago... cripes!

MattyD44 - thanks, already, for the guide linked above. I used that to swap in the front door speakers a couple of weeks ago and it's already sounding much nicer; more detail up high and louder too. I'm off work this week and am about to get started on the amp install. Here goes...

Talk about late to the party!

Reveiving an old thread here.

Redlion did you ever resolve this, I have the exact same issue, and i cant figure out what is causing this.

Hi, is there anyway to tell if my head unit is coded for the Apline HIFI upgrade?

My head unit went faulty and had to be replaced, the indie I took it too said he's recoded for the Alpine upgrade but I don't think he has. Also my PDC and chimes have returned back to full volume. thanks

99.99% of BMW dealers are staffed by numpties, plus the e9* hasnt been available for ages, so they wont have had any training on it.

Well barring the B+ cable and heater recalls methods lol.

Thanks i'll take a look. I'm just a bit concerned about installation. I was planning on doing it myself because I thought it was plug n play but people seem to be having issues.

This is the cheapest I have found for the kit so far
https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...uine-bmw-part/

And then ill look for L7 subs. Does anyone know if the sub replacement is as simple as swapping out the 6.5" and dropping in the 8"?

If thats the part number you need (there are diff ones for pre/post facelift), the cheapest place in Europe tends to be these guys: https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...5-41-2-163-268 or Amazon: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/BMW-Genui...s%2A=0&ie=UTF8

Re: the subs, if you buy the whole enclosure, like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-e90-e...7/192898295420 or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OEM-BMW-E...7/133080856564 they swop straight over iirc.

Hi All; Did you get the Kit? I ordered direct from BMW at beginning of June and now told it has been delisted by BMW. I have tried quite a few people who are still advertising online! but after further investigation been told they do not have the part in stock then no surprise when chase say the same it has been stopped.

Any chances now are finding it anywhere in stock.....
